What is Char Kway Teow?
Char Kway Teow (炒粿條), which translate to stir-fried rice cake strips, is a popular and common dish found in Southeast Asia countries such as Singapore and Malaysia. The dish consist of a kway teow (flat rice noodle) which ranges of width 0.5cm - 1cm, cooked over an intense heat with sauces such as chili sauce (making it spicy), light and dark sauce, and ingredients namely prawns, eggs, Chinese chives, spring onions, fish cake and bean sprouts. Traditionally, Char Kway Teow is stir-fried in pork fat soaked in crispy croutons of pork lard.

Muhammad Farid Nordin mmg sedap bro. Aku study kat swak dlu, hari2 kueh teaw goreng.. xleju mkn.. mmg sdp mskn org cina. Jgn slh fhm, kedai org mlayu islm. Tp store org cina jual. Jd xblh ada piggy. Byk tmpt smnnjung yg pnh sya pergi, kueh tiew org swak pling sedap. Aroma kueh teaw hangus tu buat rs nya sedap. Malay buat xsdp. Rs kelat dan manis.. kantoniese style pling sedap. Fuuhhhhh.. pakcik cina yg msk tu mmg rehigh..
In my opinion, the real taste is from the garlic chilli, the high flame and dark sauce.
Never add water when fry koey teow .The egg added in will turn into tow foo fah. Control flame ,then no need to add water.
The trick is in the sauce he prepared.
Somehow I could smell the food here

Keow Teow must cook for a while only the moment you pick up the Keow Teow on plate, you add in bean sprouts on wok to have a quick cook.

vegetable oil was used, sometimes pork lard is added to give it an extra flavour!

You can ask for more ....prawns.just pay more
If eat at Chinese stalls they are very calculative 2 prawns, 4 small cockles, very little noodles. If you want more bang for your bucks either eat at Malay or Indian stalls. They don't skimp on ingredients and quantity and will be full with only 1 plate.

Don't try to kid us buddy. Malay mee usually has only egg and towgay. The above is char kway teow - which by your comment show you know krap about. Its about the hot-wok fried kway teow aroma and prawn/cockles is for flavour enhancement only.

I like to eat CKT. Today decided to whip up CKT. Never done it before. Cooking standard - worst than elementary. Follow KZread the way and recipe they do it. I plagiarised but form here and a bit from there. Outcome? - eatable but still a long way to go. Wife - CKT looks ok but I will give it a go.

Peniaga2 akan tumis cili kisar banyak2 Dan simpan untuk digunakan. . Tak perlu lah lagi tumis tiap2 kali nak masak.

This is wet type in kueh tiao mee, egg should spread and fried only then flip the kueh tiao mee if not u don't see any egg, I dun know what the taste like but should compare a dry fried kueh tiao, u will like the taste, sorry dislike from me
The cook is superstitious. Every time he put the prawns, he remove some oil.
