    They say in Shiva puran, if you can do kumbhak or breath retention for three hours, that point Pratyahara has been totally obtained, attained; hence you can go to the higher levels where dhyana, dharana, samadhi; last 3 stages of Asthanga yoga can be accomplished. Pratyahara can be done through prolonged Kumbhak which basically retention of prana or air.

    @Abhinandan Zambare Stick with what makes you happy. Following is my understanding. Vayu+Akash= Vata. Vata when purified by Prtyahara or Kumbhak cleans manas of impurities and distills as Prana and enters Sushuman via Muladhara. Hatha Yog Pradipika says: विधिवत्प्राण-संयामैर्नाडी-छक्रे विशोधिते | सुष्हुम्णा-वदनं भित्त्वा सुखाद्विशति मारुतः || ४१ | When the system of Nâdis becomes clear of the impurities by properly controlling the prâṇa, then the air, piercing the entrance of the Suśumṇâ, enters it easily.

    How to get an overview about the predominance of either Ida or Pingala Nadi path in one ?? Like I am suffering from panic disorder , then should I assume that my Pingala is dominant & start practicing Chandrivedi pranayama ???

  • @Tapas2017

    @Tapas2017

    3 жыл бұрын

    Nostril dominance is one way: Left nostril ida and Right dominance is Pingla. Mental anxiety depression is deficient Ida. Arrogance and Narcissism is excess Pingla. Ida is Manas. Pingla is Prana. Both are well balanced by Tapas and Kumbhak Pranayama.

    Tapas Bhaiya, once we identify the predominant dosha (vatta, pitta, kapha), and take diet accordingly, then, will it go away? Off course after a long time, I guess. But is it so that a point comes when there is no dosha? If yes, how do we know we have reached that point or not?

  • @Tapas2017

    @Tapas2017

    3 жыл бұрын

    Vitiating (reducing) Dosha is needed so we lead a disease free life. It is like a prisoner keeping his jail cell neat and clean. The prisoner (atman) still live the jail, no matter how clean it remains. So yes, reduce Dosha to lead a healthy life, but practice 3 Yogs and Prtyahara for mental and spiritual advancements.

    @@Tapas2017 hmm...got it..can I ask one more thing, I hear u suggesting 3 yogas, not the fourth one, 'gyaan yoga', (which includes reading of scriptures/ assimilating their learnings, upnishads, bhagwad Geeta and Brahma sutras, in that order, according to what I understand, not sure if this is right, please correct me). Is there a reason you don't insist much on ' gyaan yog' ? Just asking out of curiosity 😊

    Symptoms seem to be related to Vata dosha excess, most likely osteoarthritis at that age. Following suggestions, not a medical advise. Please discuss with your doctor. 1. Kumbhak Pranayama. 2. Surya Bhedi Pranyama X 12 Right nostril system 3. Vata reducing diet, eat more cooked foods, less raw fruits/ vegetables. No cold refrigerated foods. 4. Agni enhancing diet and exercise: dhyan Asana, Agnisar and Surya namaskar. Ghee, buttermilk, ginger, cumin, coriander, mint. 5. Sesame oil application then warm water shower and sunbathing. Steam sauna if possible or use infra red blanket to sweat. But need to sweat somehow. 6. Ekadashi fasting

    I have a question from your ida Pingla and sushumna video. A lil background, i am self inititated, and so I don’t have enough knowledge to know the correct terms, and I am constantly looking everywhere on internet so I can find more information. One of a female friend asked me a question I couldn’t explain him. I have been observing bhramacharya to attain my spiritual goal, and I have had many experiences of energy movement in my body etc. The thing is for a man the purpose is to not ejaculate and drive the energy upwards towards skull. Does it work the same way for a women. I mean I do see all male sadhus, yogis, rishis, the knowledge is being passed to boys only, the gurukool school is also meant for boys. This is leading up to a lot of doubts in my mind

  • @Tapas2017

    Yes, Brahmacharya works same for Males and females. When you engage in sex the Dhatu as semen in men and as bartholin glands secretion in females will cause pleasure sense but prana descends the Mooladhara instead of ascending to Ajna. Think of Maa Anandmayi, she was a celibate despite marrying Bhola. Sex should be practiced only if becomes an irreparable urge and slowly the urge dies off if you constantly castigate the other 23 hours a day. Chanting Chalisa and Kumbhaka and all Pratyahara such as Intermittent fasting and exercise will replace Preya with Shreya (switch dopamine for GABA in brain)

    @@Tapas2017 thanks, i knew abstinence was working for me, but just wasn’t sure if it is supposed to work the same way for both men and women alike. Btw how do you know so much, may I ask? Is there a course or something? I am finding information alright but it is not in sequence and it is a lot of fluff everywhere and I have to weed through the right info, it’s very time consuming. Is there a book? Or a course? I am trying to learn Sanskrit, just so I can read the shastra but I don’t where to begin. Please help 🙏🏻
