If you're looking for a standout neighborhood in Prague to have a stroll, gaze upon luxury items and majestically decorated buildings, look no further than the Jewish Quarter. And don't worry, it's full of historical significance too! Seeing how this place evolved from its ghetto status at the turn of 20th to being the richest area in the capital is mind-blowing.
Through our walk we showcase the famous Paris (Pařížská) Street, filled with luxury brand shops. The name is no coincidence, but rather it pinpoints to where the architects have taken inspiration from. We make a turn off the boulevard to catch a glimpse of the Old-New Synagogue (Staronová Synagoga), the oldest active synagogue in Europe. It's also home to the legendary creature, Golem, who is rumored to be lying somewhere in the attic. Right next to the synagogue is the Old Jewish Cemetery, a resting place that was never big enough for the community. For this reason, multiple layers of graves have been added until 1890, when the New Jewish Cemetery has been established. Several little souvenir shops are placed on the adjacent street for any passersby. Last, but definitely not least, check out the Vltava river bank, as it offers a nice view of the city.
