What about 1 Corinthians ch. 12 where Paul is saying we all have different gifts and not all have the gift of prophecy? Specifically verse 10 when he says “another the ability to prophesy.”

6:37 Also, we must be cautious not to assume our own thoughts are “probably God’s voice…”test every thought captive to His Word. ❤ 🙏

Great episode, but I just wanted to say I don't think it is judgement/pride/legalism to want to connect what we're experiencing or learning about, especially if it's a new area for us, to the Bible. The written Word of God is the surest Word of God. I would say it's a mark of wisdom to run to the written Word when we're confronted with the new, because we know for sure that is where God has spoken and still speaks. I love how one devotional put it, "[The Holy Spirit] will teach us more than Jesus taught but not other than Jesus taught." Let us be careful to not divorce the written Word from the spoken Word. The devo adds John 14:26, "[The Holy Spirit] ... will teach you all things AND remind you of everything I have told you."
