Tip - don't pay the mind any mind...ignore any thoughts of past, future, or imagination/daydreaming. Instead, stay with the feeling/experiencing of the moment. Tactilely. Be 100% devoted to the moment...what is felt, seen, heard, smelt, and tasted. Just like how someone can be so in their head and in thought that they can bump into a lamp pole because they simply were not aware and did not see it...go to the other side of the spectrum. So with the here and now that there is no room for thought. In the absence of thought, there is only the present.

"Rise above thinking" This statement fixed my way of thinking about reaching the awareness. I was always looking to avoid thinking by sinking below it. As soon as he said that I immediately understood something. I probably don't make any sense and I cannot explain it but I found understanding in those words. Thank you for that.

What works for me is I find an anchor point to the present moment. For example today it's the touch of my back against the chair. The feeling of touch. I mean you're sitting in the chair and the chair is in the present moment right? Find your anchor points to the present moment and keep on coming back to them when you find your mind is drifting to the past or the future.

As someone who has developed really low self-esteem, Eckhart's teachings are the only thing that have been able to help me escape my mind and become grounded in the present. It's like your senses become heightened as you release all thoughts and negative projections from the outside world and focus on the awareness within. You experience the sounds, tastes, smells, and the richness of life and the magnificence of existence. To exist and not feel as though you have to be or achieve anything is truly a gift. You are already good enough without having to be good enough to the outside world. To be of the world but not in it to me is to take life for what it is and have gratitude for what you do have and to accept that which you do not have. Then you can find peace in the present, otherwise there will always be something to chase. It's like being a child again when you are off in your own world and you don't know loneliness because you don't know there are other children besides you and you are content and happy and no one has put the pressure of being anything on you yet. That you are good enough as you are just by breathing.

Understanding the simplicity of this is life changing. I'm currently experiencing extremely challenging times. I feel it as it's what's happening now but I also let it go when the feelings ease. At points I'm totally present and there is no anxiety and at the times when it's overwhelming I remind myself that I'm trying to not think of the future or the past only what I'm doing now however hard now can be, im challenging myself to think differently and to accept what's happening however painful. When it doesn't feel simple I remind myself that im enough and I have it in me to just be with what is. Thank you for this video it's definitely something I come back to when I feel overwhelmed again.

My house mates wake me up most mornings, they put the tv on and talk loudly over the top of the tv. This used to make me so angry, of cause I said something but they just keep doing it. Now I say to myself, its just sound and except it, I dont get angry and feel knots in my stomache anymore, its just sound. I turn the tv on in my bedroom and play Eckhart Tolle videos, up quiet loud I must say, and remain calm.

There has to be a deeper reason for experiencing an awakening than simply for one's own benefit. Unless we seek to awaken so we can be of service to others - to the world and humanity as a whole - it will never happen.

When you are still, you are present and you live through the deep I. Accept the is-ness of this moment. This is a quick way beyond the ego. This means don't complain internally or externally. Thanks Eckhart. 💯🌻🐳🐧💖🍻🍰🚴‍♂️🏍🥕✔☯️🤠

The not complaining piece at the end was interesting. Not getting heated but explaining the situation. I like this. Too often I get really angry when service is below-standard. There is a better way. I also liked what he said about accepting when there are noisy people around. I am living in a bnb where there are noises that are disturbing, and it's tough to accept. If I can accept, I can imagine I will be more at peace. But I have to complain first lol peacefully. Then I can accept I've done all I can do.
