Yep, no idea why this popped up - but I am glad it did! Never seen one of these before. I thought it was just a CAD model on the thumbnail, but to see that this actually exists brought joy to my engineering heart.

​@@BPJJohn I googled it. This idea went away after two prototypes were assembled. It is not clear if these two prototypes were ever made road-worthy (legal to drive). The company just quietly dissappeared. Their website and Facebook are still up, but inquiries are not being answered, and last posts were made years ago. So... methinks it's not the best example of British engineering 🤷🏼

8 years later, KZread suddenly recommended it for me. God knows why, because I have no interest in campers :D

The presenter sounds so calm and humble

This is wonderful. Also very pleasantly presented.

I love how well it blends in when it's not extended, and still offers sleeping space for two people. That's good if your roadtrip involves staying a few days in a city and you don't want to wake up to a cop. It'd be better if it had the option for two more seats though. Maybe detachable/foldup seats in that big storage area in the beginning. EDIT: checked their website. They recently added a model that seats 5 people. Also the price is so high that you could get a decent conventional camper and a small size regular car instead.

The heavy Back door mounted on this fiber part could produce some problems too after a while...anyway...a lot of smart brain in it.

make the bench seat against the wall in the back move like a back and fourth like the blade on a pocket knife so it can be moved into position behind the two front seats and with seat belts and you will have a normal amount of safe seating for people while driving.

This is absolutely crazy!! Well I lived over 7 month in a T5.2 short wheelbase. And it worked out pretty well for my girlfriend an me :) but see for your self on our channel.

This is great...now I can finally live in a van down by the river.

You can sleep four, but can only travel with two? That speaks for itself on how NOT practical that thing is. «ok kids. Mom and dad are taking the van. You kids take your bicycles and join us a week later. We'll have places for you to sleep.» lol

No seat belts is really about the most stupid idea I've seen in a moving vehicle. And it is against the law here, and in a lot of countries. My suggestion would be to rethink it a little, and have to more SAFE seating. If they can come up with something as genius as what they have done so far. They can come up with two more seats. The design just doesn't seem complete yet. And yes, sleeping more people than it can safely and legally carry isn't that bright. But maybe is it something for swingers? Who knows? :-)

Watching this, I really wonder if the top/roof of the van can possibly be designed to rise when necessary, which helps enlarge the space inside the van for additional functions?

If they still made these I'd 100% be in the market for one.

Best camper idea I've ever seen. Best for a couple who invite other campers for a night. Not practical for a traveling family.

The idea is nice, but in my opinion, there are some not insignificant drawbacks. Remember to carefully clean the outside because otherwise, all the dirt is brought inside the van, right in the cavity where the whole system flows. I give an example. I have the back completely out because I'm still. I am in a camping area under some trees. It starts to rain, and the leaves fall. The retractable rear gets all wet, the leaves stick to the roof, and so does the dirt. I must remember that before closing I have to clean everything. But if this is not possible, why am I still in the heavy pouring rain and have to leave? I find myself carrying the dirt inside the van. Nice idea, but it leaves me with some doubts.
