I don''t know why you put so much effort in this. It looks no better than just adding the steel bars to the broken corner and gluing it back without cutting the table or corner piece. You can even use a PVA wood glue instead of that messy styrofoam glue. It works great for this type of fiber board. I've done a similar repair on a bookcase.
