Sandhya is a a preparation for " Gayatri japa"... All acts of cleansing like Achamanya Marjana Aghamarshana All this is done to cleanse our self and prepare us to do gayatri japa. So the main reason for sandhya is gayatri japa. Which was how it was done in Vedic times also. Only veda mantra constitutes all the mantras till gayatri japa.

Aachamana different in practice too to begin with 'Rugvedaaya swaahaa..' (our version) though our family God is Vishnu.

This ancient Vaidika Achamana system probably survives among Brahmanas (Havyaka, Shivalli, Kota subgroups) of Parashurama Kshetra i.e Coastal Karnataka and parts of Malenadu. ಬಹುತೇಕ ಹಳೇ ಮೈಸೂರು ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಬ್ರಾಹ್ಮಣರು ವಿಷ್ಣುವಿನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನೇ ಹೇಳಿ ಆಚಮನ ಮಾಡುವ ಪೌರಾಣಿಕ ಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. If you are not from coastal region or Malnad please let me know about the community you belong to. As per 1890 census Kingdom of Mysore had as many as 100 brahmana subgroups. I'm interested to study the diversity that exists among Brahmana subgroups in their Vedic culture and cuisine.

Atleast 1000 years before Kooratalwan has given info about achamana with Keshavaadi Vishnu Naamas. Also, he says this practice is frm long ago. So, achamana with Vishnu Naaama should be very much before 1000 years atleast. I am frm Vadakali Brahmin Community

Gayatri is referred to as (dhyeya sad savit-maala-madhya-varti nArAyana). In the second vyahruti, the three syllabi of Om are expanded into Bhoor Bhuwah Swaha. then 24 mantras from the syllabus. The Gayatri mantra's 24 syllables represent Keshva, Narayana, Madhva, Govinda, and so forth. Hence, applying these names to various body areas aids in cleansing. Just to let you know, Shiva's assistance is requested only when performing bhoota uchatana. And after Gayatri Japa, all of the Gods are remembered. Aakashath Pathitham Thoyam Yatha Gachathi Sagaram Sarvadeva Namaskaram Keshavam Prathi Gachathi, nevertheless.

Om bhur bhuva suvaha maha jana tapa satatyam. Om tat savitur vareniyam bhargo devasya dhimahi dhiyo yona prachodayat. Om shanti shanti shantihi .

1 Vedas are apourasha meaning not written by any one .What does Vedas glorify ,they glorify only one God Sriman Narayana or lord Vishnu.Vedas represent only one God that is sriman Narayana 2.Gayatri mantra before was chanted as Brahma Gayatri and not savitru Gayatri ,it was Rishi Vishwamitra who is the drastra of Gayatri mantra gave the so called Gayatri mantra which dates back to tretayuga ,so we are talking about 39 lakh years ago in present 28th kaliyuga .It was not given by any Raghav bhat 100 years back Sandhyavandane is a vedic practice and has been classified as per shaka meaning Rigveda,yajurveda and Atharvaveda,so that means these were part of Vedas itself ,from when Vedas exists.It was classified by Sri Vedavyasa for the benefit of mankind.All the mantra did not come up in recent times as told by you.Thats why Sandhya vandane ,that is vandane to all Rishis,God and Ashta dikku (8 direction) is done after Upanayana. Why Vishnu name ,because Sandhyavandana is a vedic practice and all Vedas refer or glorify Narayana or Vishnu,24 different names represent both Shulka paksha and Krishna paksha ,these 2 paksha has 12 each Vishnu names representing and hence 24 names of Sri Narayana. Vishnu and Shiva are both different .Eshwara or Rudra devaru,as called in Vedas can destroy all 14 lokas ,but he cannot create anything on his own.It is lord Narayana or Vishnu who creates the universe after pralaya kala.What does Ambruni sukta tells .Ambruni is the name of Mahalakshmi .To explain in brief she says I can make any one to Brahma or Rudra padavi ,as per the wishes of Sriman Narayana.You are a Sanskrit scholar I am sure you will know the meaning of Ambruni sukta Acharyare one request please refer to Bhagavatha for clear understanding

Agreed🙏 To further sharpen. though Rudra is 'samhaara karta', he cannot do it on his own. It has to be as per the Orders of Sri Hari and that too, by the powers manifested in Rudra by Sri Hari. In the entire cosmos, NO SOUL (Gods are also in this category) CAN INDEPENDENTLY PERFORM ANY ACTION ON ITS OWN.

I read in puranas' that when Brahma enters as golden egg, he himself becomes thousands of Suns, and the same Suns will begin life as Brahma, protects life as Vishnu and destroys world as Rudra. So Sun is Brahma Vishnu Rudra, so no confusion for me. Also as per anganyaasa all 6 gods Brahma Vishnu Rudra Eeshwara Sadaashiva and Sarvaatma are the gods of Gayatri mantra which again supports above argument indicating all above gods are one and the same. So absolutely no confusion Sun is all god and he is visible right infront of us.

This is totally depicted in Ganesha purana and endorsed by Shankaraacharya. ga in sanskrit stands for volume/space as in gagana/gana/Ganapati and not aananda, ra is not jnana, ra indicates burning or Agni. Bha-Light/Shine, ga=space, va/van/vanta-contain, totally bhaga means light appearing in space/universe (indicates atma ), vantha means who includes, combining together bhagavantha means paramaatma.

Otherwise he doesnot get the essence of the Veda and purana and not fit for any upanyasa. People like bannanje will differentiate between gods specially Shiva and Vishnu such people will fall into Naraka and will not get moksha in this life. This is the wordings of Vedavyaasa in purana and not my statement. Hence ignore such ppl, read all scriptures yourself. Also In Narayanopanishad, Narayana says all brahmins are not shaivas nor vaishnavas since they do sandyavandana they are only Shaaktas by worshipping Gayatri.

I find no difference between what Poojya Acharyaru is telling and vedic history written by Leftists. There was nothing called Pre Vedic Post Vedic periods and Leftists conveniently decided 5000 years as age of Vedas. Whereas in reality all the three Vaidica Darshanas unanimously agree on Veda Nityatva. I feel, Poojya Achaaryaru, has not understood the real concept of Vedas. In Vishnu Sahasranam, Vishnu is addressed as "Shiva", Agni etc. Also, every letter of Veda carries a minimum of 3 meanings. Agni also means Vishnu. I feel he is misleading

@@sanduji203 ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಮಹಾಭಾರತ ಮತ್ತು ಭಾಗವತವನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ತಿ ಓದಿ. ಕೃಷ್ಣನ ಹೆಸರು ವೇದಗಳಿಂದ ಬಂದಿದ್ದು. ಗರ್ಗಾಚಾರ್ಯರು ದೇವರು ಅವತರಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಅರಿತು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟರು. ಸಂಧ್ಯಾವಂದನೆ ವೇದಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅದು ಆದ್ಯ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯ. ರಾಮ, ಕೃಷ್ಣ, ನರಸಿಂಹ ಇವೆಲ್ಲ ವೇದಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದ ಹೆಸರುಗಳು. ಅದು ಅವತಾರಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಬರುತ್ತವೆ.

According all the Puranaas allpervading Shri Vishnu is the original entity in the form of cosmic fluid Aapo Narayana .From him Brahma emerged then from Brahma Shiva emerged. This is not a dry story.THis the most logic and tatva pradhaan narration. This is accepted by Shri mat Adi Shankaracharacharya also and there before. Achamana is being performed with the names of Lord Vishnu for the past innumerable years across Bharata khanda with full reverence without any objections or doubts. The meaning of Vishnu is Sarva vyapaka ie all pervading substrate from which the other devataas emerge. There is no meaning in the question itself.
