Hey everyone, today i'm covering Powkiddy's X28. I really like the X28's simple - but clever - design, the shell is fantastic. The dpad does suffer from being both long and thin but I was able to get used to it. My biggest gripe is how the shoulder buttons aren't currently registered in streaming apps - as if\once this is fixed, the X28 could be an absolutely fantastic budget friendly streaming handheld. I'm hoping this could someday be fixed as i'm sure the X28 could come into its own then!

I already have Retroid Pocket 3 Plus now I want to buy Powkiddy X28 after watching many reviews on KZread your's aswell. Simply put the 5.5inch is just the right size between compact enough to carry it on the go and on your backpack. My Retroid Pocket 3 plus is kinda small and the analog stick keeps petruding and touching the touchscreen. I find that annoying so I'll be buying this the size is perfect display and sound quality sounds great aswel!

Hey. Do you think it's possible to fix the dpad issue by putting some electrical tape over the contacts, so the input area is smaller?
Did the OTA updates fix the problems with game streaming apps?
Your gameplay makes me think that Nintendo needs to make Bowser an enemy in Zelda.

Did you get the dpad and joystick issues Russ from Retro game corps alluded to on the X28?

My dpad's not nearly as sensitive as Russ' is, though mine's still sensitive (especially around the center arc), I can get it to pass the Contra test unlike Russ'... Thanks for the question!

Absolutely, some emulators like duckstation even have a dedicated change disk option to keep it super seamless
So does the Gyroscope work with Kirby Tilt and Tumble?

For me, I almost exclusively use either SanDisk Ultra's or Samsung EVO's in all of my handhelds - and (touch wood!) have never had any failures yet :) Thanks for stopping by and hope you've had a great start to the week!
Which device is your fav in t618? Do you prefer this to rg405?

Personally the RG405M takes it but I’ve had zero hardware issues with mine (some on Reddit have reported the screen adhesive coming away).. the X28 is comfy and if it wasn’t for a couple of decisions with the control setup, would have likely taken it for me!
Does it have zelda twilight princess and wind waker?
Would you say this is for people who are on a low budget?

It can do once installed, essentially just like an android phone with buttons!
i am wishing for a bit more power then its perfect. I just wanna play some of my favoire ps2/gc games like maximo and some of the diablo style arpgs and zelda. But the size is perfect i just need that zelda windwaker and ps2 thirdperson like maximo running perfect - very good and i am so happy. i dont wanna spend more then 200 dollars either so will be a while until a console like that comes out

@Pridetoons Sorry, no, the closest thing is the Odin lite, at least when it is about PS2 emulation. I compare pro and lite (the 6/128 version) all the time, and they are head to head. One squeezes some fps more out of this game, the other does the same trick with another game. In general they are rather equal, with the pro winning with 3ds and switch, the lite with ngc and wii. But the lite is closer to everything t618 pricewise - just 30 bucks more, but double the power at least. Same goes for the pro, but this one is more than double the price... 🤷
