Bruno bwv The original was actually written about the Northern Ireland conflict.(Gary Moore was originally from Belfast)Check out Gary's live version of the 1987 ''Live in Stockholm'' concert,compared to that,both this & the Sonata Arctica cover are like child's play.

Stormsoul Was it not Moore who wrote this one, bit to simple for Lynott?And for sure they jam up there, only probably with Cliff Burton on bass, John Bonham on drums and the whole line-up of frontmen :)

I didn't realize this until recently, but Powerwolf is probably one of my favorite power metal artists recently. In addition to several other bands I've discovered recently, Powerwolf seems to have a really solid discography and I can't wait for the new album. I'm definitely going to seek out physical copies of all their stuff.

Fun Fact: Desmond Doss, the famous WWII medic on the pacific front was targeted by a sniper, but that sniper’s rifle jammed each time he tried to shoot at Desmond.

Have been a fan of Gary Moore since i bought a run for cover cd in a flea market in the town where my grandparents used to live when i was 8. Last year i discovered powerwolf while roaming on youtube, and when i first heard this song I felt genuine chills and my heart race, taking me back to my first discoveries of rock and metal. So thank you once again Powerwolf for making such an amazing and unique cover, as well as a perfect tribute to the late Gary Moore and Phil Lynott.

Too fucking good. Powerwolf never fails to make amazing covers!

this theme reminds me so much of Sabaton songs, I wonder why Sabaton never covered this song (to my knowledge) it's still great! very powerful!

As a longtime fan of both Gary Moore and Powerwolf I'm absolutely amazed. This song was awesome to begin with and hte cover is just as good. Wow!

Son, you've been missing out :P I can definitely see the appeal of powerwolf, but i personally think that the original is better. Then again, i've always been partial to a more "melodic" kind of sound. Either way, i wholeheartedly recommend that you check out the original by Gary and Phil Lynott. I think you'd enjoy both versions. And while you're at it, check out Gary's "Over the hills and far away" too. :D

Bulletproof vests are made to attenuate the impact of certain kinds of bullets at certain distance and even so you can get badly hurt (broken ribs, damaged organs...) and To my knowledge there is nothing stopping an anti material rifle bullet from ripping through you and your bulletproof vest.

When it says "No uniform ever stoped a bullet from a gun" it means that if you wear a uniform like a U.S Marine uniform that is not something that will save you from a bullet. You will be shot regardless.
