Instead of thinking about how different their notions of safety and sophistication are... I just keep thinking about these men in "Makinstuffabad"... each of them is HIGHLY conscientious, their work methods are highly "Artisanal" (hard-earned through grueling apprenticeship). Each of them has a family to support, and they work harder each day than most westerners ever have in years or even decades. May God bless and keep them.

Safety is not a fancy fashion for wimpy Westerners. It is a fundamental right for every worker in the world. Beside, the safety rules have a cost: if a company does not implements them thus gains an economical advantage over competitors, at the expense of its workers.

I have taken risks doing work for myself but never to the degree I have seen here. A lot of the processes used here and other videos wouldnt be allowed for not meeting American standards. And to think these are put into nearly everything we buy made from other countries.

When i was in india on an enviromental study/holiday, my friend who lives there took me on the ganges river to show me where places like this and textile factories release their waste liguids into the river. I has onky been there a day and i had to go to hospital as i picked up a big but i had drunk bottled water and packaged food so going on the river o was a bit caustious. When i say the place stinks, i mean it really stinks and is hoy. So both of those tjings dont make for a pleasant holiday but i was mostly prepared for it seeing plaves in indonesia and malayasia like it. From the burning of bodies on the river for cremation ceremonies to seeing the remains floating paste you or skulls and bones on the river bank is an eye opener. And people swim in the river and worship it and then you see them deficate and urinate in it and throwing rubbish in it like its a dump. The chemicals we saw being dumped were so bad my eyes and longs burnt and i found it hard to breathe yet we we a considerable distance from the outlet pipes. Toxins like lead and mercury dioxins were found in the river water. I took a sample and my skin on my upper arm was splashed with it and it instantly started to it and became inflamed later in the day and it took over a month to completley go away. Acids and cleaning chemicals, die surfactents, insecticides and fertilizers, oils, hydraulic and refrigerant and motor oils are openly dumped in the river. Lead levels are extrem in some plaxes yet children play in the water near by. The goverment in india is trying to fix these issues but corruption is running wild and its cheaper for those in charge to turn a blind eye. Sadly these countries have the means and money neccesary to help fix the enviromental issues, but they wont no matter how hard you educate them. Theyll alwways end up back repeating the bad habbits theyre so use to

you can see the guys dealing with that wire are thinking theres a better way too... but its all rush rush rush and nothing changes until it breaks down and it cant be repaired anymore, or the repair deems that the layout changes... :sorry boss, but yknow... we cant get that old tata truck differential anymore, we welded the crown gear so many times theres no gear left anymore, so we used a part off a massey fergusson but it spins the wrong way so now everything has to face the other way..." just having those spools as removable units so they can be picked up on an overhead gantry and swapped for an empty one... and yeah. they went slo-mo during the head forming process, but that threading operation was just... bang, and over.... im still trying to figure out what theyre doing there. bolt gets rolled along that slidey thing, but wow... ive never seen a linear threading operation before. is it rolled, or cut, is it single point, like WTF???? or maybe its someones little secret so they werent allowed to film too close?

This seems so ineffective going onto so many spools, why not use the same spool instead of putting it on 3 different ones

Why keep the wire in such heavy bundles when it all gets cut up into bolts just a few inches long? With how much they are manually handling the wire, wouldn’t it be more efficient to keep it in bundles 50-75 pounds?
