What an absolute beast, and the dudes and ladies that can make all of it work together as a single unit must be pure badassery.

I had the privilege of being on the USS Ranger when I was 9or 10 yrs for a tour . It was docked in Vancouver 🇨🇦 around 1980 . It was the most amazing experience to see the f-14 in side the ship

I miss Carl Vinzon, i attended catapult and arresting gear in Lakehurst New Jersey year 1986, all my classmate came from Carl Vinzon, we had a wonderful days at that time, after weekly test, at night, drinking party, i was very drunk, me amd my friends destroyed the telephone booth, i cannot forget that experienced, those are the days we were crazy, miss you Carl Vinzon and Subic Naval base. God bless all the crews.

I served on her from 1984 - 1988. The airwing was different. You're right about unique and fulfilling experience. Made 2.5 deployments on her.

I remember about 1988 the JFK aircraft carrier came to Boston and it's hard to get a sense of the size from video, they are absolutely huge. God bless all who serve 🙏🇺🇸

I remember this Warship when it landed at Subic Naval Base here in The 🇵🇭Philippines late 80's.

The Mighty Carl Vinson! The first carrier to field a F35 squadron IIRC.

@@MetaView7 Yes. There is no tolerance for mediocrity. Even the mighty F-14 Tomcat was quickly retired with one-half of its airframe service life remaining. The Navy quickly spent $55 billion to acquire ~540 Super Hornets.

@@MetaView7 Well first of all, none of this tech was made during WW2, nor used then. So that was a comment you grabbed out of your ass. Vinson was made in the 80s, the tech on it is still being updated as the years go by. 2nd, it’s not a WW2 strategy… it’s literally just exercises and practices to be faster and efficient. 3rd, check your spelling before submitting a comment

今から数十年前カールヴィンソンが横須賀の沖合いにアンカー打ち停泊している時乗員の通船の仕事させて頂きました。私の乗船していた船が一番高速船だったので艦長が乗船したら他の乗員は乗せず基地桟橋まで通船した事思いだす。カールヴィンソンの航行中のカラー写真頂きました。ハンバーカーも頂き美味でしたね。

My first ship afs4 gave Carl Vinson stores an fuel an food after she deployed for first time I think in asia and indian ocean. I never got to see inside her. That's why hope if she is back in San Diego in January will ask for your with her deck dept officers or enlisted person
