There is something supernatural about tithing. Throughout history, those who have operated according to the principles of tithing have been blessed in an unprecedented way. In spite of all the arguments against tithing, tithing is part of our spiritual worship and part of our Biblical obligations.

@@roseline3376 Roseline, you need to undertstand the following: (1) Levites receive tithes, and no one else. God Himself mandated this (see Numbers 18:21-22). (2) The tithe of Abraham to Melchizeded was a tithe of tradition, not religion, becasue there were no religious or legal requirement to tithe, as he did. (3) The tithe promised by Jacob was similarly one of tradition, not a religious observance (4) No gentile has ever been required to tithe in the Old testament. Only Jews. And only to Levites, because of Numbers 18:21-22. (5) No gentile has ever been asked to tithe in the New Testament, and certainly, not the church (6) Every mention to tithe in the New Testament was directed to Jews, as was required by the law of Moses, never to Gentiles (7) Gentile believers were never required to live by the law of Moses in the New Testament; this law is what mandated tithing. Concerning giving, or tithing, or prosperity, Malachi 3:8-12 is not the full counsel of God. It is an excerpt, quoted to the church for centuries (believe it or not), which is a misrepresentation of God's counsel. We've accepted it because that's what we have always been taught. If you're interested in learning more, I have researched and written about this in "Tither, You Are Free!" Blessings to you, Roseline!

Did you know that, concerning giving, or tithing, or prosperity, Malachi 3:8-12 is not the full counsel of God? It is an excerpt, quoted to the church for centuries (believe it or not), which is a misrepresentation of God's counsel. We've accepted it because that's what we have always been taught. Here are a few points to consider. (1) There is no scripture in the bible that requires a Gentile to tithe. (2) There is no scripture where anyone other than a Levite may ever receive tithes. (3) There is no scripture where a pastor may ever require or receive tithes, from anyone. -- Who did God appoint to receive tithes? God said, "And, behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tenth [the tithe] in Israel for an inheritance, for their service which they serve, even the service of the tabernacle of the congregation (Numbers 18:21). In this scripture, God established who receives the tithe (the Levites), and why they received it (they received no inheritance, and they served in the temple). This assignment is exclusive to Levites. A pastor cannot assume this assignment, he has never been scripturally assigned by God to collect tithes, he is not a Levite. In that same sense, only a Levite, never a pastor, could ever serve in a Jewish temple. The church has not replaced the Jewish temple, and pastors have not replaced Levites. -- People are blessed when they give, not because of Malachi 3, which is based on the Law of Moses, an Old Testament law that has been replaced by Grace under Christ, at the cross. They are blessed because Jesus said, "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you" (Luke 6:38). It is this principle of giving and receiving at work, when we give and are blessed. Not the expired law of tithing, which was required of the Jews (never Gentiles), and could only be received by Levite priests because they received no inheritance and were set apart to work fully in the Jewish temple. -- There is much more to this, such as Abraham's tithe to Melchizedek, Jacob's promise to tithe, the history of when and why the New Testament church tithes (there is actually a date!), and the biblical support for all these truths. To be clear, every pastor has a right to collect offerings in support of the ministry; I fully agree with supporting the church financially. But our giving must be godly. It is wrong to require people to tithe, contrary to the scriptures, then say that we live according to the scriptures. If you're interested in learning more, I have researched and written about this in "Tither, You Are Free!" Blessings to you and your ministry!

Deuteronomy 26:12 “When you finish tithing the full tenth of your produce in the third year, the year of the tithe, you are to give it to the Levite, to the outsider, to the orphan and to the widow, so that they may eat within your town gates and be satisfied.

Giving under the grace is more severe than the law. It is called INSTRUCTIONAL giving. The Holy spirit may Instruct you to clear your account. Most won't do that. Now, God gets to test our faithfulness with tithes before He takes us to instructional giving. A priest is anyone that feeds you the word of God. The man/woman that man's the alter you serve. I have been tithing and I received new instructions from the Holy spirit to tithe is a different way: according to my expectations. Ask the Holy spirit to guide in your researches. The scriptures without the Holy ghost unaeza potea sana

@@josephkaranjaranjos8984 Blessings to you, my brother in Christ. Please consider the following points. There is nothing in God's word that suggests that giving under grace is more severe than giving under the law. By definition, the law is more severe than grace, because grace emphasizes free choice, reinforced by love, whereas the law emphasizes compulsory compiance, reinformced by punishment. That is the core differeence between giving under grace, versus tithing. When you speak of "INSTRUCTIONAL" giving, whose "instructions" do you speak of? It doesn't come from the Word, therefore, it is man made, which is not a foundation for obedience to God. The Holy Spirit indeed may instruct someone to clear their account. But it is so interesting that church leaders speak of people clearing their accounts, yet so few of these leders have actually cleared their own accounts to give to someone in need. My dear brother, how many times have you ever cleared your own account for someone, without expecting something of similar oe equal value for yourself in return? If you have done so, you are the rare few. If you haven't, you are a part of the majority who asks others to lift that weight, but would never lift such weight themselves. That is wrong. If a priest is anyone who feeds you the word of God, then we are all priests, which the scriptures actually say (1 Peter 2:9), so what's the differnce? There is no big "I" or little "u" in God's kingdom. Essentially, we are all sheep. You said, "I have been tithing and I received new instructions from the Holy spirit to tithe is a different way: according to my expectations." I'm not sure what that means, but if you are hearing instructions that are contrary to God's word, you are not hearing from the Holy Spirit. In short, here are the key points: (1) Levites receive tithes, and no one else. God, HIMSELF mandated this. (2) The tithe of Abraham to Melchizeded was a tithe of tradition, not religion, becasue there were no religious or legal requirement to tithe, as he did. (3) The tithe promised by Jacob was similarly one of tradition, not a religiou sobservance (4) No gentile has ever been required to tithe in the Old testament. Only Jews. And only to Levites. (5) No gentile has ever been asked to tithe in the New Testament, and certainly, not the church (6) Every mention to tithe in the New Testament was directed to Jews, as was required by the law, never to Gentiles (7) Gentile believers were never required to live by the law (which is what mandated tithing) in the New Testament.

@@williambaraka8619 I tithed for decades. It was unscriptural and, therefore, wrong. Romans 6:14 declared that we are no longer under the law but under grace. I no longer tithe, because the mandate of the law, that people should tithe, and do animal scarifices, and observe the religious rituals that the law prescribed, do not apply to me as a New Testament believer in Christ. The blood of Jesus set me free from the law, at the cross of calvary.
