@@theit-unicorn1873 yeah I think but I think I will have to uninstall all antivirus , firewalls, etc too as disabling them doesn’t let the program open up ports and freezes the installer . I will try this on my laptop that I just installed windows on after boot partition got corrupted badly by windows update. So if it’s get a problem all I have to do is a quick restore.

Thanks, This is great for exposing MANY utilities we (I) may have not used in the past. I created the USB and did some exploration of the many apps, looks good. However; the more apps you have, the more difficult to keep the USB up to date (yup, I am lazy), especially when it takes this long to build the Medicat USB. I find that a Ventoy USB with a finite set of ISOs and portable apps I may need (as proven by usage) is the way to go. However; the Medicat USB I created is now in the kit, just in case!

I'm thinking Google drive or some kind of cloud that looks at just that thumb drive so you have a secret little folder floating above you that's just for the thumb drive with your cracks hacks and stacks of cash and boom!

Now this looks like a very cool tool!! I have used Ventoy before and it is incredible, I am looking forward to the rest of this series!!

Thanks Chris, I'll be working on a review of medicat soon. I'm new to ventoy, but it looks awesome. Have you used any other multi boot usb tools? I saw easy2boot, it looks nice as well. I might do a comparison video in the future, when I've kicked the tires on both

I also used ave toy, but switched to Medicat, because of the large number of iso & bootable utilities included ... why the download is so large.

@@theit-unicorn1873 Yes well I tried to download the software but then after attempt #19 it finally downloaded and I sent it to the formatted drive and I have yet to test it because the readout of apps are not showing as per video. I have to admit I have an extremely slow broadband connection top speed is around 50mbs so that in itself is a bind to getting stuff off the net which hampers my efforts besides being very frustrating. Thinking about it could not the bat file - install be included into the download and install? I am semi savvy with computers yet what looked at first to be straight forward turned into a very frustrating process which not only the download I had to prep the USB stick many times to. But if it works now aand indeed a bootable drive then I will be a happy chappy. But thanks for your concern in any case.

I would recommend creating a new ventoy USB. You can first extract the medicat USB to an img file using www.alexpage.de/usb-image-tool/. Then you can add that Medicat and all other ISO/IMG files that you want to boot to. Hope that helps.

Can I recommend using the Zoom and follow Script for OBS. little bit of a headache to get it all up and running but you can set zoom levels and 2 hotkeys. one for zooming in/out and another for turning on/off mouse follow.

My desktop computer is an older Dell Optiplex 390 that is in MBR rather than GPT. Does this mean I should make Medicat MBR? I have other computers that may be GPT. My computer runs in "Legacy" and it says in System Info that Secure Boot is "Unsupported." So, what would your suggestions be in that scenario?

Hi Michael, when you say that your Dell Optiplex is in MBR rather than GPT, are you referring to the hard drive in it that runs the OS? If so, that should have no impact on booting to USB as that process is totally separate from your hard drive. Hope that helps. If your PC only supports Legacy BIOS and has no UEFI, you might want to try MBR. You won't want secure boot on for booting into USBs, it's possible, but just adds another layer to work through. If your PC does not support secure boot, you shouldn't need to worry about that.

@@theit-unicorn1873 Yes, my computer uses a SSD that the computer boots from. It is Windows 10 Professional in "Legacy" with MBR. Secure Boot is not supported. I just came back to the computer and saw that says "Everything is ok." It says "29652 files checked." There is a green check mark. But there is a red "x" that says "There were 43 missing files." In Windows Defender, it says two programs in particular were stopped. Those are "PUA:Win32/Passshow" and "PUADIManager:Win32/Installcore" What are your thoughts on this? Should I allow those programs with Windows Defender? What is the significance of having 43 missing files like that? Should I click on "Press any key to continue"? Or should I allow the PUA files in Defender first? In Defender "Protection History" it shows 39 files that were "Quarantined" today - presumably from that Medicat App. What are your thoughts?

Great question. You can easily update the images. It’s as simple as copying and pasting the newest images onto the drive, deleting the previous version should you choose to. I will be making a video on this exact topic soon. Thanks!

Have you disabled your antivirus software?

If the final check reports "0 Bad Files"; but; "46 Missing Files," what can one do - other than just starting back over from scratch; or, just hoping they were files that aren't needed???

I setup my Medicat USB as GPT and Secure Boot, but wheen I boot into Medicat and use tools, it won't recognize my HP EliteDesk SSD drive. Any ideas on how i can get my Medicat USB to recognize my SSD drive. Thanks

Now I have tried and tried to get this USB stick made but the torrent sometimes comes back as not enough memory (have 16GB RAM) and other sorts of stoppages so what am I doing wrong because it is getting very frustrating.

You would have to look at your logs for specifics, but there are many utilities in Medicat. For example, it includes utilities to help you if you forget your Windows password, this could be seen as malicious. Be sure you download from a valid source. This is why any instructionals on Medicat will have you pause your AV.

When is trying to install ventoy it stuck, and it says if it frozen for more than 60 secs install manually. So how do i install it manually?

Did you ever get Ventoy installed on the USB? You could try reformatting it if not.

I kept turning off real time and win defender,, but files still were getting blocked...ughhhhhhh. Windows 11

Just recently found your channel and loving it if i follow your instructions but when it check the file after the download and extration it found i bad file and 43 missing files is their a program i could run that could resolve those issues or do i have to reinstall it again

You should be able to boot it on either. Does your laptop not have legacy boot support, I don't think you need it, but most laptops have it.

Also, there should be a pop up within the process where you can choose gpt or not.

oNce i start the process and it gets to the downloading Ventoy, it stops and the USB disappears from my PC

@@theit-unicorn1873 I went back and watched this again and realized I wasn't following your instructions. I wasn't using the installer and was going to the downloads(mirrors). Once I ran the batch and sw the same thing happening that you were showing, I was golden, like Pony Boy(The Outsider reference). I truly appreciate you giving out this information. I'm currently studying for my Network Infrastructure degree so I thought this tool would definitely be something i can use as an IT person! Now to find videos on how to actually use it.!

With Ventoy, you just drop in ISOs. Check out my videos on Ventoy. With Medicat, you'll need to know where to put the ISOs. I recommend following my tutorials for Ventoy.

@@theit-unicorn1873 yeah you can see at the diskmgmt after formatting but it indicates that unlocated. But you can't see the flashdrive in the pc but shows in the diskmgmt

I hate windows 10. Ended up with 40 missing files, even after completely turning off the antivirus.

DISAPPOINTING! I just did a "Full Scan" with Windows Defender after making a Medicat USB 3.0 device. There were 34 "Viruses" listed as a "Severe Threat" and/or "Trojan" with "Severe Threat." And that is in addition to the 39 that Windows Defender Quarantined on its own. The "Quick Scan" of Defender did not show these problems. Neither did Malwarebytes. And neither did SuperAntiSpyware. But it is very disturbing Windows found that many "Trojans" and "Viruses" in such a way. I'm staying away from Medicat. I wish I had not tried this.

There are many other tools out there if you’re not comfortable with MediCat. Any post you find regarding MediCat will tell you to disable AV. You can use tools like virustotal to inspect packages. Again, if this bothers you, go check out alternatives. The beauty of tech is there’s almost always more than one way to skin the cat at hand.

@@theit-unicorn1873 My main problem at this point is there are over 80 "Threats" of "Viruses" and "Trojans" listed as "Severe" and "High" forms of "Threats" when Windows Defender does a Full Scan. And when you select "Quarantine" or "Remove," these corrupt files will NOT allow Windows 10 to "Quarantine" or "Remove" them! If you know of a way to "Quarantine" or "Remove" these "Threats," I would very much appreciate your advice.

All of those malware flags are false positives due to the packages used to install the apps. There really are NO viruses or malware. Simply disable real-time scanning on your AV before you install Medicat; you can re-enable afterwards.

it never completed stuck at 82% and did take almost 10 hours to download

@@theit-unicorn1873 I made sure that I stayed with the machine at the time of downloading, I have a real good connection, I did start to worry after the time remaining for completion was still near the 10 hour mark 2 hours into the download, I just cannot afford to spend so much time glued to a machine! would had loved to try this P.E disk out but it looks like it is back to Gandalf P.E for me, how did you keep your sanity? 🤣👍 many thanks for your reply
