@@dewreckdeberjack9618 Not everything no. Parts are hard to get and expensive to ship down under. A guy I know just paid $1300 to ship a 70 T Bird windshield to Australia and it'll probably take 2 months to get there. That is a choice you make when you buy old American cars down there though.

I sold a Yamaha gt 80 muffler that was almost new to a fella in Australia. He was more than happy to pay the 200.00 US shipping fee. It took a while to get there.

Kiwi ingenuity is the application of basic theory and skills where no off the shelf solutions exists. Kiwis developed these abilities post colonisation due to parts not being easily available ( sailing ship era ) but work needing to be done and things needing to be repaired. We Kiwis also benefitted from the introduction of no. 8 fencing wire, and the concepts of Heath Robinson (but that’s another story). Keep representing Kiwi. 😊

Nice work Kiwi. Fair bit of thinking and mods there. As you may (or may not?) be aware, the first Aussie Chrysler with power windows was the CH. I used regulator bits from one of those to convert an early Valiant. Not as easy as one may think. While I had a bit more compatibility than you did between parts, there was still a fair bit of cut and adapt between original and later generation regs. They did work in the end. 34:05 that 50/50 chance of getting it right, is always a 90/10 probability of getting it wrong, you're not alone 😅 Nice job. Keeping costs down, you're becoming a TAPO Kiwi.

Hi from Okauia (Matamata) ! I've owned a nice '65 Olds Cutlass Sports Coupe with manual window winders for about 10 years. As the Cutlass was supposed to be the luxury model in the F85 range that annoys me a bit. Awesome what you have come up with mate! You;ve given me a great direction to go but I have always thought that I would keep the original handles in place as actuators with a switch either side (on the inside) to make the motor work up or down. Bit of drama to do this way but quite stealthy I think. Cheers Norm

That was a very knowledge packed video! I've done several power window swaps over the years and always wondered if something like this was feasible. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge with us Chris. It's much appreciated. Btw, how did you narrow down what window regulators you were going to use for this swap?

You had me cringing when you took the grinder to the original hand crank rivets. I've bled because of those springs cutting loose. A tip for anyone planning a similar upgrade. Hit a pick&pull junkyard, get the regulators, switches, wiring, accordion boots for the door to body gaps. One stop shopping.

I don't have to do this with my 1963 Fury, she came from the factory with power windows. If you want to be accurate, the windows have to have power all the time even when the key is off.

The car has stops on the downward travel and just runs out anywhere to go in the upward direction. Most electric window set ups are like that. Some really late model stuff has limit switches o

It will be interesting to se how this holds up over time. I notice the "fan" on the Honda setup has gear teeth cut on both sides - I'm assuming it's sandwiched between two gears so the torque doesn't push the fan's teeth out of mesh with the drive gear. Marge's original regulator doesn't have this feature since "keep fit windows" don't really generate that sort of potential for over-torque in the same way. I wonder if motorizing the old reg setup will hold together, or eventually spread the fan from the drive gear with time and use. Alternatively, does that second set of teeth on the fan have another function I haven't considered?

Do you know your wagon was in the background of the opening sequence of blumhouses Truth or dare movie? It is. It won't do anything for the value or anything like a car character like christine but it's definitely that wagon.
