This is like a more wild version of "love letter", but I'm not sure if it's better just yet. I guess I'll wait and see.

It definitely has its similarities! That’s because it was made in collaboration with Love Letter. That said, Pet's wide variety of card abilities adds a lot to the game. And the art design is always a win. Take care and I'd love to hear if you end up picking it up!

I just got power hungry pets yesterday and I don’t think I quite understand how the 0 card works. My guess is that it cancels out the king cat but the next highest number would win, is that correct

You’re absolutely right! At least as far as I understand the rules. The 0 is the ankle biter that has no chance of winning, but takes the 10-holder down with them. A pretty hilarious and infuriating card. Take care and hopefully this helps!
