Very nice! The more simple blocker version came first and works by simply using the generated power to block the battery so when your power dropped beneath a set amount it would swap over to the battery, with the big disadvantage of losing power generation when on battery power. The biggest difference between a simple blocker setup and the Nih core is when your windmills/solar panels aren't producing enough electricity to run your main circuit. The blocker circuit will simply unblock the battery and switch to battery power, while the windmill/solar panel power is being wasted. The Nih core capitalizes on that wasted power by rerouting it to charge the battery. This can be a huge energy difference if your circuit runs on 95 power, for example, and you were only producing 94 the blocker type would just waste it all and not put it towards anything whereas the Nih core will take that 94 and charge the battery.

My favorite use of the memory cell power routing "c bus" is to shunt 100% of available power to tesla coils if the main TC gets destroyed.

4:04 , without memory cell, the power from windmills eaten by branches and not charging the battery instead, if you have memory cell, instead of eaten up by branch, it redirected to charge battery

I was looking for something like the configure siphon for my furnaces! Unfortunately rust+ just informed me that I have been killed and I was sleeping in the core of my base. :(
correct me if I am wrong but can you also just branch off directly from main power source set amount to charge battery with a branch and the rest pass through powers the base a little more to it than I said but simply put

Looking at the Nih core i think i can simplify it so it wastes even less power. Just need to get a new PC cuz my current finally died
Do you need the blocker if you are toggling the memory cell? The memory cell toggles the power output to the different connections eliminating the need for the blocker? seems redundant.

Yes it is needed so the battery isn't trying to complete the circuit overriding all the energy we are sending from power generation since an OR Switch will send the highest of two inputs. The input not selected will just erase the rW since we can't store nor consume them. I watched your Nih core video and understood it. I watched this one and comprehend it as well;however, I must have missed the part where you explained how you wired the 4 large batteries. I can see a splitter and root combiner between the two sets of large batteries but not sure how you incorporated it into the Nih core. Edit: upon closer examination, I think I see a 3rd splitter that is using output 1 & 3 to go to splitter 1 &2. Outputs 1&2 going to power in on each battery while power out is going into each combiner/splitter combo. Once each set is combined, it appears they are going to the Nih core root combiner slots in the Nih core. It would have been nice to color code the wires at each phase. Red for the battery connections, white for your Nih core, blue for Cbus 1, teal Cbus 2, etc etc

Because of the previous video I tried building a Nih Core in my base but my memory cell was acting weird.. Instead of the the splitter activating the set or reset of the memory cell depending on the power input it seemed like it was activating both the set and reset at the same time. The "output" and "inverted output" were both receiving half of the power going into the memory cell instead of one or the other. Anyone else come across this or am I just dumb? XD

I have never had this problem. Did you set power 1 to set and power 2 to reset. It's important due to the order of how the inputs toggled. Also, are you playing on a modded server? Maybe a plugin could be altering the core electrical mechanics?

Memory cell is bugged and always says it’s splitting the power but it will be sending all the power down one output, just check further down the line

this was cool. and i mean no offense. but why not just add a switch between main power and furnace curcuit and call it a day? im pretty sure it does the same job with less running power... please explain

Hey sorry for the late reply. If you wanted to run just a furnace on your circuit it would be more efficient to just use a switch. Whenever you design a circuit whether it be in rust or IRL scalability and efficiency both play an important part in a good circuit, one is not greater then the other. So by using C-Bus' you can make as many circuits as you want without having to worry about efficiency since you can just turn them off, and your only adding the minimum amount to the Active Usage. Also a switch would only work if the furnace was your only circuit since you would more then likely use a branch before the switch which would add active usage, negating the the reason behind the switch. @@JohnWillikers so i got the jist of it after watching your video a second time and analysing the circuit in detail. even more so after your explination. thank you for the response. you just took my "E" game to the next level. And i suck at pvp and hate being a farmbot so being good at things like electricity and gardening are the only thing that keep me in a clan. and the more i know, the harder it is to replace me lol. thanks again
Good tutorial and useful information here, but you HAVE to get a better microphone! It is so frustrating being barely able to understand you without cranking my volume to 10.
I must b f tier electrician lol i would just use a branch and a switch to turn them furnaces off, trying to understand why you need complex circuits. Literally just use branches switches and combiners
This nih core argument makes zero sense if you have 400 coming in to 3 batteries that max output 300 total and your running 300 worth of stuff is no different then if you build a nih core and have 400 coming in and 300 usage except that you wasted time building a nih core which uses power itself so sounds like it is actually wasting power that could have gone straght to the battery imstead. It would make sense if you still could not use from batterys while charging but otherwise seems to me nih core is just obsolete. Unless it is set up that during peak times you can have 325 power usage while only have battery output of 300

A nih core only consumes 2 power on power delivery past the battery. Plus, another 6 for the routing to the battery. So 8 power is what the nih core consumes. What makes the nih core powerful is that you don't really use your batteries. They sit there for whenever power generation does not meet demand and kicks on. Plus, you're throwing away a lot less energy since you don't pay the 20% tax until you have paid for your whole circuit. And as far as batteries go, you should always match your batteries to your circuit demand since they will push full blast once you pair up more than one battery. The other case that makes a Nih core nice is that if they were to destroy your batteries, your circuits would run off of power generation. If they destroy your power generation, most of the time, the batteries kick in fully charged and give you 4 hours of up time, assuming you don't have battery backup systems.
