Power BI Waterfall Month by Month example

Using Power BI's Waterfall charts, finance data is plotted to show a month by month movement in income and costs with the ability to look at the monthly trend for each individual cost. I bring in a small dataset, then perform a small amount of manipulation to the data before displaying the movement in Waterfall charts, firstly in a chart showing income movement, then in a second chart showing movement in expenses.
This video is designed to be a follow along and provides sense checks along the way to make sure that the code is providing the expected outputs..
If you prefer to jump to the code for the income month by month movement please head to 6:40, and for the expenses code please head to 14:20.

Thank you for watching the video and taking the time to comment. Much appreciated. I've included a link to Microsoft's documentation on waterfalls in case this helps - docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/visuals/power-bi-visualization-waterfall-charts Overall there are too many variables to consider, such as what your overall project wants to achieve, what the user wants to see, and what the user will understand, for me comment specifically on your project but I wish you well with it. Thanks again Pauline
