Hi, thanks for the great content. Would like to ask, for the age category. AND(DimCustomer[Customer Age] >=0, DimCustomer[Customer Age] 10, DimCustomer[Customer Age] 10 rather than >=10, to capture the value of 11-20? Lets discuss. Thanks

Dear Sir! It seems to me that the _AvgRevenueAgeGroup variable in that case will actually be equivalent to the [Avg Revenue (Age Group)] measure, since averaging identical values over unique age categories does not contribute additional information. What am I misunderstanding? Thank you in advance!

Very precise. Thanks. I had a question, I have a couple PBI reports created separately using direct query from database. Is it possible to merge all reports in one page for visual same as Excel/csv reports (Not a dashboard but same page)? if so, I'd appreciate if you can show it in a tutorial :)

@@oreoluwa_israel1975 Next to the format visual icon is a "magnifying glass icon" that says " add further analyses to your visual". click on that and select the average line. Hope this helps.

Hi, thanks for this informative tutorial. I have two questions: 1- to calculate Total Revenue, why you didn't use unit price in FactTable, instead of using a price column in the dimension table? 2-to calculate customer age, it is not better to calculate the age of the customer at the time of shopping? when you are using the "Today()" function, the formula calculates the current age of customers which is not helpful for sales analysis. Thanks in advance for your help.

Calculating the age of customers at the age of shopping would be a choice. Is not bad. What if you are using a live data that updates daily? So, using today function is an ideal. If you want to limit to the shipping date you can use the last transaction date which will only consider the last shopping date. For revenue, the FactTable can contains the product price and cost likewise the Product lookup table and they are the same thing. Meaning you can calculate from either of the Tables.

My friend,at the minuts 19.40 i don't have suggestions by the dax, for example when you had wrote "Factable", i don't see any results like ( factTable order quantity) in general i see only the main calculactor like (sum,order) but not related to our data. may i know why dax does'nt suggest me ?

The key difference between these two DAX expressions is that the first one calculates the average revenue by age category, while the second calculates the overall average revenue across all customers. Let's break this down: ``` Avg Revenue (Age Group) = AVERAGEX( All('DimCustomer'[AgeCategory]), [Total Revenue] ) ``` - This groups the data by the AgeCategory column in the DimCustomer table - Then for each age group, it calculates the average of the Total Revenue column - So it gives you the average revenue for each separate age group category Whereas: ``` Avg Revenue (Age Group) = AVERAGEX( All('DimCustomer'), [Total Revenue] ) ``` - This expression does NOT group by any category - It just takes the full set of all DimCustomer rows - And calculates a single overall revenue average across all rows The results differ because the first is giving you a break down of averages by age group, while the second is a single overall average. The overall average will likely differ from the averages of the individual groups, especially if revenue differs significantly across age categories. Grouping it and then averaging provides more detail.
