i love how its like the short is the video that got posted by the girl in this video and then the full video here is what happened

I'm honestly blown away. I did not expect this level of depth when I clicked on this video, I just thought it was gonna be a clip satirising desperate dudes but holy shit we got a full story line with multiple characters and it felt so real. And man the working at subway dead end job everything was just put together masterfully, and the exposure of how trends are manufactured and fake was just wonderful. High praise.

This is pretty much the modern equivalent of getting Humiliated on a game show.

Love how you pushed past the meme into how internet culture affects the real world. Funny how the guy on the initial date seemed like perfect meme material initially, but then turned out to be a normal dude outside of that awkward date. Would've loved to see him try to cash in on his sudden internet fame. Nice callout to the Chipotle girl who did exactly that. Good stuff 👍

Yeah, and honestly he wasn't overly creepy imo. I'm saying this as a woman with experience in creeps. Watching someone's stories and knowing personal things about them is normal to many people now. If you didn't post everything online and he knew all that, then I'd be concerned, but she posted everything apparently. He really just seemed awkward and anxious. And with trends, it usually starts out tame and gets progressively worse, which was shown with the guys here, and was shown with his roomate planning on harassing people to try and get into the trend himself.

This is an actually great short film, an insightful cinematic comment on society and social media. Cherdleys is evolving…

I've haven't felt my expectations be this subverted in a long time

Damn dude this might be my favorite one ever. This was a banger. From the camera work to comedy. So good.

I watched this and just felt bad. Even if you want to argue the first guy was intentionally being creepy, which isn't a given, since my first impression is that he was just awkward and didn't know how to act normal, there's still certainly a slew of normal guys who wound up getting caught up in that trend and humiliated by their crush.

It started off goofy then turned deep. Very cool video. It kind of reminded me of an episode of Louie.
