These cars have aged beautifully! My 645 always gets comments and looks. They need a load of maintenance..but ..well i enjoy it 😁

I still think for the looks and sound etc, they aren't anywhere near as much to run compared to an Aston Martin, Maserati GT or even a Jag.

@@plangiQQ It varies really, The 645 is the one that seems to need most attention mainly oil leaks !! the 650 and 630 are supposedly a bit more reliable. I do most work on my 645 myself which helps with cost. I have had the following common issues over the last 4 years valve stem oil seals (90,000miles - £500 labour) IVM module - £50 part (100,000 miles) Alternator bracket gasket £5 part (120,000 miles 10hr job!) Cooolant transfer pipe at 125,000 miles £50 part 8hr job £450 labour. - Various timing chain gaskets/rocker gaskets/ vacuum pump seals/ coolant hoses etc to sort out leaks. oil service every 6000 miles roughly obviously at the mileage mine is, its kind of expected but they do need regular maintenance and inspection, that will cost you more to run than the average family car. A 630 would possibly be your best option if you don't want to be bogged down with engine maintenance/bills. The 645/650 has the nice noise! and realistically, although more powerful there isn't a lot between the 630 and 645/650 in terms of real world performance. Overall, great cars to drive and always get appreciating comments. cant bring myself to part with mine. Hope this helps a little

A beautiful car mate! I remember back in the late 00's my father looked at getting a 650i in the UK. I can't believe how cheap they are in the UK these days. I almost bought a 630i about 5 years ago, in Moscow, but it sold just before I made my mind up.

They really are beautiful and I think they definitely have gotten nicer with age. But yeah they are a bargain now and I would highly recommend getting one when you come back to the UK (if you do haha) not sure what the prices are like in Moscow

@@mrgccI went to view a 645 3 weeks ago but it had a fee leaks, there's also a 635d with a tan orange interior but lacking some service history but its beautiful, then another 645 in Uxbridge royal blue and beige with wood trim it's a tuff decision

I would say the 635d engine is pretty much bullet proof so long as its not abused. You do seem to be in a tough spot on choices. I would suggest maybe also try viewing a 650i and that way you have seen them all and know for sure which one you want. 650i is better on fuel than the 645ci

Very nice.. I have a 630i sport and just bought some 20” VEEMANN VC7 alloys. What suspension work have you had done? I have ordered some Eibach springs, 25/20mm drop, plus Eibach spacers 10/15mm to fill the arch space better. Looking forward to fitting..should look good 👍🏼 Edit: Is the ambient lighting a retro fit.. I wasn’t aware the E63 had it?? 😮

Hi mate, thanks for getting in touch. Sure so with mine its just been the Eibach lowering springs, Bilstein shocks and then the wheels as the suspension work been done. I think its got the spacers as well from ac schnitzer. Your fitment will really look a lot like mine in the end for sure. And yeah that was an installation I did. Let me know if you want it done and it was just a real special thing for me to try out and bring some new life to the car.

I am having serious thoughts about getting a 650, I’m only a little put off by the oil leak issues they ‘can’ have.. but more than that, I have had my 630i 3 years now and have sorted the issues it can have, so I know where I am with it (if you know what I mean) 😄 I have just watched your fibre optic install video.. looks so good. So at the moment I averaged around 21 real world mpg. Literally a mix in driving. On the dash it says 25mpg so I lost 4mpg using lpg but then lpg is 52p/litre right now around me.

Sorry for the late reply. But yeah for the 650i that's what I averaged. They are much better on fuel than the 645ci which works out. Still not amazing but great for a 360bhp V8 lol

I get around 26 mpg on the motorway as an average, in terms of reliability I think they are pretty much the same but the 650i is newer so maybe a little better just due to age. But important thing in these cars is how was it owned previously.

Fantastic, thank you. I'm in Australia and I've been running LPG on 4 cars over the past 20 years, all 4 litre straight 6's. The current one system is awesome. LPG was historically 40% per litre the price of 91 octane petrol but for the past 5ish years it's become 60% the price of petrol per liter, roughly. LPG is 70 to 80 cents, 91 petrol $1.30 to $1.50. I'd love to see a close up, well lit shot of the tank as I'd like to own this car next. Is the tank about 75 liters of usable capacity? Thanks

I have a 650 e63. So you can recommend to get lpg on that machine? I know somebody who did lpg on his car and he said it destroyed his car. I’m not sure to get lpg on my car

Well I have the Prins system on mine. Not sure why they would say it destroys the car. If it is maintained properly then it should be pretty much bulletproof. The BMW engines are better than the Toyota Engines for LPG as the Toyota engines need lubricating where as BMW doesn't. Thats what I was told by a LPG installer.

I do a mix of short and long. My system is set up so the car gets to a certain temp before switching to lpg 🤣

Not that I'm aware of. I think its a standard silver paint on the car

@@mrgcc the thing is I drove one a year ago but opted for the seat leon stage 3 blah blah blah but now I wanna cruise. I tested a fully loaded 630i on the weekend an man it was sweet. Had me thinking hard about the swap. What's the LPG like on it. Has that helped keep costs down

Lpg has literally halved the cost of fuel. And on a 630i it would mean you are going to enjoy even better fuel efficiency. Seat Leon's are nice but very very different cars. One is a GT cruise and another is a hot hatch. The cost of converting to LPG will be similar for a 630i and a 645ci/650i so consider insurance and if you would rather jump to a V8 as fuel will still be cheap but 1 you get a V8 and the other you get a straight 6. The 630i has a great engine and cheap to maintain. The v8 only really have 1 main issue which is valve stem seals. Get that sorted and everyones happy.

Good thing is you can get a 6 series now and not worry about depreciation as they are pretty much as low as it will ever be. Just go for it mate! You won't beat it for what it is

haha, sure, so on average I am getting a real world value of 22mpg at a price of 44p/litre of LPG. (current price near me)

No miles is to much for the 4.8L V8 N62 motor. As long as the previous owners took care of it. You will have no issues

It drives brilliantly. I do have a few oil leaks I want to sort out but that's pretty much expected with an older BMW or most cars. I would say look at the service history. I dont think mileage plays much of an effect on these cars if the car has been well maintained.

That car most likely has a zf gearbox
