no sound proofing. no AC. no bucket seats with velour. no carpet or satellite radio. some people cut you off, it's a bit rough ride at times. i miss driving these beasts. thanks for the upload.

Sounds great. I owned 2 of these, then moved on to 5 tons, M923A2. I used mine for parades and events, kept them clean and pretty in military markings. At 1:44, silver car could have pulled out but waited. I remember that. People would wait on a side street to see you pass, I live in Colorado Springs but the public does not get to see these trucks up close. Driving around town in a deuce, my chest muscles would hurt from that manual steering turning while slow on city streets. The M923A2 is a huge jump in ease; power steering, auto trans, 63 mph top speed. Loved both models of trucks.

Brings back lots of memories... tooling over to the warehouse to pickup some pallets of printer paper for the 32nd DPU at Ft. Hood. I'll never forget how easy the truck was to drive and how smoothly it shifted. Worth the long walk to the motor pool to pick it up and after dropping it off. Sound like nothing else.

Drove for the 6948th Security Squadron from Kelly/Lackland AFB Texas. We only had those magnificent beasts assigned to us. I loved every moment behind the wheel. We convoyed from Kelly to Little Rock AFB Arkansas with all trucks towing a trailer. The choke was used as a cruise control by almost all of my fellow airmen. We drove through a big town in Texas and civilians in their cars would cut in between us and the truck ahead. We taught more than one what a foolish idea that was. Front truck would slow from the maximum speed of 55 mph and my truck would close in on the dummy in between. They learned that we meant convoy discipline. That deuce shown had extra mirrors. Ours had those small round ones that vibrated awfully until you revved the engine or was in motion. I also drove these trucks when I was stationed in Japan. Got to drive them in South Korea and in the Philippines. We had two detachments from the 4th Combat Communications unit in those two countries. But, when I leaving Japan, the unit started getting the 5 ton tractors to replace the Deuce. Those trucks were equipped with automatic transmissions. I didn’t get my hands on those. Also the best drivers I encountered were a friend in Texas who taught me things that the official trainers didn’t and a woman named Beverly. Outstanding people.

@@hummerguy I just got one myself, and my findings are about the same. 45 to 50 miles an hour seems to be where it's happy. I can push it to 55 but that screaming at 2600 rpm. I soon will be pulling the multi-fuel engine and swapping it with a big block chevy. Then I can safely run 3500 RPM all day long. Which would bring the truck to 65 miles an hour easily on factory tires. And also produces double the horsepower and more torque than the original engine without even modifying it. Fuel economy will be about the same except gas itself is cheaper. Everything else on the whole truck I can get parts for no problem, but the engine I can only find New Old stock parts and for me that's a problem. I can't bring myself to replace old broken parts with equally old parts. So I want to be able to go to my local O'Reilly's when I need
