I'm saying f*** it to body dysmorphia and fear, and crocheting myself a low-cut crop so my saggy boobs and big belly can get exposure to the sun while I garden in my yard and drink delicious coffee! Admittedly I probably won't be bold enough to wear it out in public, but the fact that I'm willing to do it in my own backyard it's a big step for me and it's like 100° out so I deserve to feel cool and cute ❤

I’ve been getting really into the idea of a solid color linen dress because it’s simple and wonderful for the hot weather. I used to rely a lot on patterns to feel stylish but lately what I’ve been doing is spicing a single piece up with some coordinated accessories- bandanas/ hats are a great way to tie it all together! Depending on the kind of sandals you wear, anklets are also a great accessory for summer (especially if you make the anklet yourself!) The other day I had on a peach linen mumu, and I accessorized it with a green bandana to protect my scalp from the sun, witchy brown eyeball earrings with green crystals, tiger eye and green crystal beaded bracelets, witchy rings, and an anklet that picked up on all of the colors. Topped it off with some lavender birks and a black embroidered purse that also picked up on those colors and I felt breezy while also expressing my personal style!

I decided to "shop at home" and found a bag of socks from the 1980s that I wore when I used to work in Manhattan. They are so much better-made than the socks I've seen in the stores today! And so cute!

May I suggest that before you singe the ends of your ribbon, you check the fiber content? If it's any kind of synthetic (nylon, polyester) it will melt, but if it's cotton (or maybe rayon) it can catch on fire! 🔥 Use a dab of glue on the end of natural fiber ribbon 😊.

Yay free books! I want to recommend books by one of my oldest friends...we met in college in 1986, and she's won the Hugo Award twice for her fiction. Suzanne Palmer has a 4-book series called "The Finder Series," which is a space opera type of deal mixed with a very silly sense of humor. I think you'd like it!

my favourite quote so far, "at first i wasn't super jazzed about my color options, but then, I don't know, i kinda just did a 180 and then i got jazzed"

To stay myself when it's hot: I use my deep-cool colour palette, pick linen dress and wide cotton T-shirt and use colourful cross bags. I must say: those bright and neon colours suit you so well!🎉

I used to wear a big leather jacket no matter the temperature outside and I'm honestly surprised I didn't just melt away. It was so sweaty but I persisted😔. Love your channel and energy! Keep it up!

On a family vacation to Mexico in 1988, my dad bought me, a 15-year-old punk rock girl, a classic black motorcycle jacket (which I later studded up😂) . I wore that damn jacket the rest of the vaycay. In photos, my family are in shorts and tank tops, and then there's me in a leather jacket 😂

I wear the lightest cotton and linen clothes I can find in the summer, with slip on fun designed foamy slides, I wash my feet to stay cool at various points in the day, and mix juice with half water to stay hydrated, and movies 🎥 in recliners 🤩🥳

I know many therapists that DON'T use beige, rather they aren't scared of using colour and prints.

I needed to see this! I’m a landscaper and I’m miserable by the time I get home in the summer. This has encouraged me to actually spice up my clothes in this heat!!

It's really hard in the summer because I tend to dress more andro, but one of the things I tried on my last school break when I went thrifting was actually layering two patterned short sleeve mens button downs, which is not something I would ever have considered before watching your channel. But I immediately loved the pattern clashing. For me, it's still a little too hot for that, but for someone who is not a human heater, I think it'd be a cool take on summery short sleeve button downs. Maybe a little hawaiian shirt pattern clashing?? Or do a patterned hawaiian shirt with a solid or minimal print button down? Have one buttoned up and the top one open?

If you thrifted those shoes from a cat owner, it was probably a cat that did the damage to the shoelaces lol. My cat BreeBree loves to chew on shoelaces if she's ever given the chance. Also if you don't have any Rick rack but you have t-shirt scraps, you can use t-shirt scraps for shoelaces. Old school punks would do this all the time

Desk Puppy looked wistful at the idea of a small family of ceramic ornaments. It was -4 degrees celcius here (south east of Australia) last night so I won't be jazzing up any summer outfits BUT I will use the knotted toggle idea to create a closure for the tiny thrifted 60s sewing box I found that is missing its original. I always enjoy your energy. Happy reading.

I hope you enjoy The Witch King, it’s one of my favorite reads from last year (also a big Murderbot fan)! I always veer toward linen stuff when we really get into summer-and adding belts to the shorts and layered necklaces with high neck tanks! Now to break out the polymer clay to make some lil charms 👀

It's the middle of winter here but I am motivated in advance for summer. Some lovely rainy day ideas

I saw a comment a couple days ago that I wanted to respond to and now I can't find it. It was in regards to it being impossible to find plus size clothes at the thrift store. I agree it's harder for us ladies, but I've been able to find some great stuff. 1 I think my best recommendation is to know your measurements and bring a tape measure. 2. Look in other sizes too because cuts and sizes can be very different. 3. I've found skirts that have an elastic waist band that is pretty shot, but good news!! I don't need the elastic. I hope you don't get discouraged 😊

My style is more cottage-core-casual, so I like to express myself by wearing milkmaid braids. So easy and they keep my hair off my neck all day. Also I love Murderbot! Currently on #4.

I basically look for loose-fitting natural fibers to maximize breathability and air flow. I like minimal accessories, as a breastfeeding mom (fewer things to snag on a nursing cover if I use one, or to be grabbed by my kiddos). But I am really liking hats that coordinate with my outfit or shoes.

My go to for summer is always the brightest tights you've ever seen in your life. Some thin ones have saved me these past few weeks of 3 degree texas weather

My dad collected buttons (the ones with the pin back) and when I really want to feel myself I pin one of them to my outfit. Those or my grandma’s brooches. It’s a nice little way of connecting to them!

I never wear layers because I’m in danger of being too hot at ALL times of the year! While I could technically wear multiple layers outside, then I have to take them all off again inside. Anyway, love your ideas that don’t require roasting to death!

Whrn its super hot i find t shirt type tops too warm. I am actually cooler if i wear a blouse thats thin and long sleeves to keep the sun off my arms. Sounds weird but the sleeves help. Look at construction workers or lawn workers they wear the long sleeves for the same reason. Love your videos and your vibe. ❤❤

I have.a good idea for your black t-shirt: keeping with the cheongsam theme, I'd cut a slit on the side of the shirt, the side without the diagonal cut. Then you could sew an additional toggle there, roughly at the waist. It looks like you have a tiny slit there already, just make the slit bigger and add a toggle.

I have gotten some new favorite books based on your recommendations and am so glad to have found someone who adored Gideon the Ninth as much as I did!

Yay we are on the same brain wave length because I had just asked how to style when it's so hot since I am a blazer girly. My current favorite thing to do is add a hat or hair accessory to my outfits to give more personality and pop. I am currently working on my costume for Fan Expo so not allowed to craft anything else until that is DONE.
