My preferred trick shot is missing my intended red and sending the cue ball into the pocket. It’s strange as I’m remarkably good at it and yet I haven’t practiced it at all.

@@Zidane87 I was exaggerating a bit. Thirty years or so ago I learnt how to pot the odd ball or two. I made a 50 break once. Just the once. Usually I reached 20 or so. I was a good 8 Ball pool player, though. Five pints in and I was a monster.
I love playing these type of shots. Satisfying
Great vid to watch during lockdown. Keep it coming Steve!
Thanks for making this video. It was beautiful to watch, I've watched it a few times now :)
What would you guys think of a series in which the "snooker youtubers" like BartonSnooker, break from life or Barry Stark would play matches against each other?
Really enjoyable to watch, thank you!
Wish I could play a 3rd of one these shots haha doesn't help im visually impaired. Love watching these videos

So sweet knowledge after watching this video I able to know basic step and also able to put in pocket
What a great video!! cant wait to watch more!
Awesome shots. I liked the head cam. It helps us to see how you're performing the actual shots. I would the like see more head cam videos. Really appreciated. Thanks!
Brilliant video, thank you for posting it. I play these shots ☺️. Sometimes it does turn out as good as the pros. Your videos are very informative 🙏🏻.
This is a fantastic video Steve ! Really enjoyed watching 😊 best wishes! Ian
Your Cue Power is superb Barton, thank god i found this channel a year ago and learned a good bit of snooker from you. Thank You :)

Great video mate point of view so helpful, is it possible you could make some that show us wher that cueball will go using every combination of bottom top middle right left, even pictures overhead with paths shown, your teaching is awesome thanks for the demos ❤
It helped alot man....thanku
As a fairly casual player (played once a week while having a few beers, for 20ish years. Highest break 53), I absolutely love this. I love playing fancy positional shots and stuff 🙂
Super video Steve 👍🏻 love the head cam view. Gives a good insight into what you see as a player and exactly where you are aiming and striking on the cue ball. Just makes me want to play snooker though 😫

You are awesome,and a very good snoker teacher
Great content!
Keep it Up! Mr. Barton.
Amazing stuff!
Love this video ❤
These head cam shots relly help with exactly where you're aiming. I'm new to the game, or was last year before the world went tits-up. Very useful. Thanks.
Great seeing it from your pov, exactly where you are striking, well done again Steve.

That last blue was amazing.
Enjoy your tutoring mate, talented player, great content
Hi ya I was looking for the video you did about how you sight the ball, when you play the shot are you looking at the object ball or the cue ball? Thanks Paul
Fast cloth on those snooker tables. That first shot was a thing of beauty. The draw into the corner on the diagonal shot: "not an easy shot". That's putting it mildly, I don't hit my cross table drill like that all the time and that's across an 8' table with bigger pockets. It was amazing to me the first time I tried it how many ways there are to pull it in back in the slightly wrong direction, enough to miss the pocket. Pretty sure I discovered ALL of them in a few of the first ten tries. :-)
What do you use for recording bud? The quality looks great! I hope you are well,watching your 137 clearance as soon as this sends
Love this content Steve,not just making a video for the sake of it. AND I can even try some of these on my 3 slater.

Great video as always, i fear i'll never going to be as awesome as you though.
How do u decide that hitting left/right hand side on a particular shot will lead to running side or no running side?
Excellent coaching #Master❤
Thanks for that Steve, great positional shots. There is a lot of clutter around those tables. 👍👍😷😱🤪
Great skills, shots and camera work 🔳👍

I was actually quite excited to wait for a deep screw/deep side screw from hitting yellow/brown/green and bring the cue ball to bottom half of the table..
Loved the video. One of the shots I was hoping to see was from blue to pink. I know it's not an exhibition shot but I need to know how to play it. It's the shot where the white comes off it's natural angle and just straightens up off the bottom cushion to land perfect on the pink. From the TV view, the white would be on the right hand side of the table like at 4:20 and finish just above the pink on the same side. The shot on the black you play at 2:19. I would play that with the same amount of right hand side like you take the shot at 3:02. Keep them coming Steve. Very useful.

Ah yes I know the shot you mean from Blue to Pink. I will note it down and cover it in a future video 👍
Good video. 👍

I'm from Pakistan and I'm watching all your videos and I improve my game a lot since I start watching your videos thanks for being here for us stay blessed keep it up ❤️☺️😇
A friend of mine says that you need to adjust your aim depending on which side of the table you are trying to execute the shot because of the "nap" of the cloth.
Great video!!! Greetings from Hong Kong😬

Hey, Im looking to set up our snooker club with a camera. Which one do you use and how do you record your videos? Greetings from Germany.
Great video. That first shot was very much like a Judd Trump shot. Brilliant.👍👍
How to improve cusion ball sir???
Excellent explanation on how to play the shots. Just a question Steve. Do you have a titanium ferrule?

Having some fun with the new superfine I see
Great video Steve. When going into the pack from black and brown it looks like you don’t account for throw. Is this because of the short distance from cue ball to object ball?
@BartonSnooker
3 жыл бұрын
On the brown I'm aiming slightly thinner as the white will push into the brown. On the black I'm aiming slightly thicker as the white will push out wide. I guess it's hard to spot those small changes on the video.
Awsome
I know I have seen this and commented before but it’s good to see again.

whats the height of your table?
Great video! I watch yours and some other channels regularly and it is a common recommendation to use side only if absolutely needed (in game that is). What level would you say I should be at to start practicing shots with side? I am still a beginner (1 year playing, 19 max break and I hit say 7/10 half ball black of the spot and 9/10 half ball blues) and I only play shots with screw and top spin, no side yet, maybe for safety shots. Thanks!

Hi! Keeping it simple is the way to go at first. No need to overcomplicate things. Always have a play around with everything though. Why not try using a bit of side for 5-10 mins at the end of each session. Get a feel for how it works. Good luck 😃

@@BartonSnooker thanks! I will give it a try next time I get a chance to play. I thing potting blue with a little side to keep the white in the middle of the table instead of going to the cushion is a shot would definitely be useful during games.

If you arry getting 7/10 blacks off the spot then I am surprised your max break is only 19
you are like judd well done
great selection of fun shots but how do you keep your table running so fast, is it just maintenance or ironing or heat.
@BartonSnooker

Brushed regularly, ironed regularly. And it has a very good quality fast cloth on it.

Steve I’ve got a question, in 5:24 y don’t u stun to the bottom left of the pack instead of screwing? As I see, I think u will free up more reds if u stun to the bottom left
@BartonSnooker
3 жыл бұрын
Yes stun would be the best option if you were playing a game. I only screwed purely for the purpose of demonstrating that shot 👍
Steve, are your table pockets TV table pockets or smaller?
@BartonSnooker
3 жыл бұрын
My pockets are bigger than the ones you see on the TV.
How much thinner do you aim if you play with sidespin?
@BartonSnooker
3 жыл бұрын
It depends on the shot, sometimes a bit thinner, sometimes a bit thicker, and how hard you play it and also the distance between the two balls. It's all down to experience.
nigh on impossible on club's tables unless well brushed and well ironed.
Really missing very rare exhibition shot from brown to blue, where the check side transform on opposite cushion into the running side and finish on the blue. I'd love to see it from you ♥
Blue at 4.25,I feel like I would hit pink. Nice video, thanks.
❤❤❤❤
Anyone absolutely craving a session of snooker 😪😞
I love how your accent gives the word “side” 2 syllables
@MrJdsenior

The dipthong is 'ah eye' for anyone speaking English, it's just that it happens so quickly you don't think about it. If you sing, or sang much, you would likely be aware of this, and you hold the ah typically and finish to the 'eye' at the cut off, just before the end of the note. I guess the Brits do it when talking, too. Interesting.
you have to put the camera on yo aiming eye

@@pureblood1980x yeah it's to do with where the camera lens sits in relation to the cue. It's very difficult to get the lens lined up directly above the cue. And if I do, it's all lopsided!
Do you think it would be a struggle to play a lot of these on your average club table? I.e. because they can be slow
