He should go work in professional wrestling cause damn this guy sells these "moves". The saddest part is the people who take these courses and pay for them actually think they can now defend themselves. It's scary to think the situations ppl may put themselves in thinking they can take down anyone with a tap or poke.

I wonder if Master Graham Dyball ever gets sick of pretending to get knocked out and then getting slapped around to get "revived" by that fat charlatan. Every demo I've ever seen with "Grand Master" Bowman he always uses Graham and invariably Graham will get knocked out in a most dramatic fashion that involves much flailing and staggering that is then followed by overly dramatized stupor and a barrage of slaps to the shoulders and head to resuscitate the poor "incapacitated" Graham. I wonder if Graham is ever like, "Can I please, just this once, be the one that fake knocks you out, Bowman? Please!"

I have used Pressure Points to Control & Restrain persons in my security job but they were more in a grappling types of situations and they were mainly pressing activation points. The only times I've used strike activated pressure points was in 2 separate scenarios. First one I was in a clinch situation and hit the back of the head on the left hand side near the point I think is called Gallblader 20 but I'm not certain on it's name and the gentleman was pretty much stunned long enough for me to execute a simple takedown and then help had arrived to assist with the apprehension. Second was I had a wristlock on a person and he was leaning forward and he tried to spin around out of it and I slapped downward on the tricep and he went down. My apologies if I haven't explained the situations well. I did 3 separate Pressure Point Courses and strike activated points did work in the course but we were learning the on a static and somewhat compliant partner and being the demo student I got the full brunt of 2 instructors on 2 course so I know they work on myself. I must say I was skeptical as well when I was first exposed to pressure point tactics but I'll conclude by saying they do work on most (not all) people and should be used to make your current knowledge in Combatives or Martial Arts better not as a sole system or style.

i can confirm, while the mystical asia-meridian-energy-flow-chi-talk is nonsense, hitting a superficial nerve or compressing a vessel (sleepers hold) corresponds nicely with med school anatomy (which i have, i must say, way deeper knowledge of than of MA).

the pressure point stuff does work, from a scientific point of view. famous example is, when you accidentally hit your elbow somewhere and it gives you chills to your finger tips. that's the Nervus ulnaris, and it's running superficial in that area of you arm. hitting there can "paralyze" your opponents arm for a few seconds. though i guess you have to be a master to apply this in real combat.

haha, wisecrack. what do you think compressing the carotid artery is (aka any random blood choke found in submission grappling)? the gracies are bloody masters in pressure point use. hitting a nerve, compressing a vessel, whatever, that's cake and effective. the whole one-touch-knockout shit and the "i touch your earlobe and because of that in 30 years you die from cancer" ist utter bullshit for budo-romantics and people with too much money to spend. all i say is: target the weak spots on the human body. that's pressure points. also: i wouldn't try anything on royce gracie, because wether it's my muay thai or my ninjutsu, that guy would rip me apart in seconds.

it looks like they watched some videos of aikido, taichi, wing chun, karate and used some techniques adding their pressure points. the few things I've seen that resembled the art I practice, aikido, were poorly executed. some sort of compliant joint lock which not only wouldn't get the opponent down, but it also wouldn't offer any protection from a simple counter attack. I admit that this seminar showed more martial art ( even though bad) than Dillman's or Cameron's put together haha

I tried to send you a message Prior to this one, You sound like MMA or BJJ or Both Which is Ok, But this comes from the very Beginning of all Martial arts, Qi Gong as well as Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan these two Arts are the Great Great, Great Grandfathers of ALL Martial arts. You Should have a little Respect. Kyoshu-Jitsu evolved after these arts Came to Okinawa, then Japan, Then Korea, Then the US. Somewhere in between the Malaysian arts, Lau arts of Hawaii(Much Like Guge Gonji) Penchak Silat, Escrima &Kali) factored in at about the 1600-1700's But, To become a more well rounded Martial artist, the Best thing to do (IN MY OPINION) is to start At the beginning, With Acupuncture, Qi-Gong, and any other healing therapy. Then once you have a Fuller Understanding and are Trusted, then you might get to learn the opposite of Healing. We All have 2 MAIN TYPES of Strength. HEI LEK and GIN LEK. When anyone finally Comes Full-Circle in Martial arts, they ALL find out that true Mastery, lies in the abilities to Master their own energy, mind body and eventually spirit, then its all about compassion, and the Healing of others

  • @MightyJabroni

+citic101 Even if some of this is painful. It is still like 99% useless in a fight. The amount of control about an opponent in order to execute this stuff as it is shown here ..... forget it. A genuinely resisting opponent doesn't casually hand you his wrist. And mind you, "resisting" means also that he is going out of his way to hurt you! These silly demonstrations don't reflect that in the slightest. If a guy wants to hurt you, he doesn't throw weird ass step-in punches that are a mile off the center line, poking wholes into the air. So much stuff that gets labeled as "self defense" and "martial arts" is completely useless. That's not to say there aren't genuine martial arts out there. But the amount of BS in it is of the freaking scale.

Total comic book bullshit. Batman and Robin went to the same school. I worked my ass off for years to EARN the right to wear a black belt and 3 red stripes indicating I am 3rd Dan in American Karate. I teach properly. These nuts are learning just enough to get there was kicked and maybe even killed in a true self defense situation. A damn shame. Dillman should be ashamed. Mystical cartoon bullshit.
