Pottery Studio Tour: tips and tricks on how we built a studio on a tight budget!
Join me for an indept tour of my pottery studio that my husband and I, along with the help of our kids, built ourselves. I share cost saving tricks that you can apply to making your own studio work and flow more efficiently, leaving more time for the important things in life, like throwing pots.

Thank you. I'm really proud of how much we repurposed. It fits so well with being a potter.
Tiffany HOW GORGEOUS! The view is so inspiring and all that daylight...I'm so envious! Like you I just love colour and totally agreed that working out of a dark basement is not ideal, but I'm not complaining, at least I have a studio to work from! Love seeing your garden and I'm looking forward to seeing your kiln room! Love your videos, very inspiring...I watch them all, tho I often watch from my tv so I don't comment as much as I should! Oh...btw I order some transfers and will be trying them out soon! thanks for the inspo!!

Thank you, Sarah! I think anywhere you can create with clay is awesome. But I do feel very blessed to have the space I do now and feel like I've been paroled from the dark, airless basement. :)
I love your studio and what a great job you and your (great) family has done! Sorry to know about your husband's infection. I hope he gets better soon so you can all build the shed. I am so impressed by your mural! 🤩 You are a jack of all trades, woman! 👍 I know how it is working in a cold, damp and messy space, but in my mind it is better than have no place to do clay! I have all my stuff in my friend´s old, run down and crowded garage. Last winter I had to move ALL my clay and glazes inside my home because some days it got below freezing temp. in the garage and standing water in the sink actually froze! This meant that I did very little clay-wise till I got the heating fixed in spring and hope there won't be another winter like it again. 🤔 I am glad you do not yearn as much for Alaska, and you do have absolutely stunnin view out of your window! Take care of yourself and your hubby... 😃

It's funny how we're just thrilled to make pots anywhere and in any conditions. It's one of the reasons I'm sooo grateful for my space. Never even dreamed I could have something like this to work in.
Stunning!!!
You have a beautiful place to create in. I love your story and practical approach to making your space.
Love your studio. It’s beautiful! I’m in the process of setting mine up right now here in Rainier Washington. You gave me a lot of good ideas.

Hi Tiffinie! I really enjoyed your studio tour. What a great space! I'm currently in borrowed space, just a corner I carved out, but I dream of a dedicated studio! Some day. I love the way you've repurposed so much stuff. It's kind of a side hobby of mine to buy used, and I get a thrill finding bargains. I see we have more in common than clay! Us country girls have a way of adapting, and there aren't many challenges we won't tackle! Well done!

This is so insightful about you, my dear friend Tiffanie! Of course the studio itself is the most beautiful place to be and work in, but your voice, your pictures, I just love you friend!!! You’re one of the best people I know!!! 💖

Hi and WOW! What a beautiful place to create your pottery. I love it. The view isn't too shabby either 🙂 Honestly though, you and your family have worked so hard to create this workplace for you. I love how you shopped around for the bargains. Upcycling is a great way to get things. I try to do that as well. Yes, please do another video. They're always so interesting and informative.
Que belleza de lugar ♥️
Oh my word, you, and your family are amazing! I can only dream about a studio like yours at the moment..... can I buy myself in? lol Althoug I am not complaining where I am at the moment, I love the warmth! 😅 Sending hugs and healking vibes for hubby! 😘😘

Úžasné studio...ten výhled na hory,neskutečná krása...😲😲👍👍👍👋👋👋👋
I love studio tours; they are the best and so much a part of a potter's story. Always been most struck by the fantasy looks of your studio, overlooking the ugly village and out to the mountains. It has the feel of something grand for the no permit needed size. I can imagine moving the studio but not a Lockerby anyone who has one would use nothing else. Thanks, great tour, love the Tiffanys. Actually, I don't like the lamps but I'm holding onto one just because of what they are.

Ahh, thank you! I, too, and fascinated by potters' studios and how they create. Yes, I need to plant trees. On my slope to hide the mcmasions below me. It's on the ever-growing list!
Thank you for the tour. I’ve always admired your studio, it’s beautiful. My studio is my small back patio. Luckily, I live in S FL so I can work out there mostly year round. Summers are killer tho!
You did a great job on the design and execution of the studio build. So many good solutions from windows to walls to pottery equipment. The table was a killer find. I’m jealous of your divided, organized storage. I’m glad it suits you so well. That chandelier is stunning! What do you do for water?

I have a hose close and fill buckets. We were going to tap into the sprinkler system for water half of the year, but decided against it as the hose is so close.
I’m currently in a low ceiling basement that seeps water with the random snake that somehow gets in for my pottery studio. I’m so happy you a beautiful space to work in now maybe one day I can get out of the basement as well 😂

This was awesome! I grew up commercial fishing for salmon in Kodiak, and then we bought into Bristol Bay in 1977. My mom and brother just wrapped up this season and I missed it again. I used to fish with my kids every summer, but haven't been back since Covid. Next year I'll be there. Those pictures I showed of me fishing, most were in Bristol Bay the others in Homer and Valdez. You just can't beat that type of life. Miss it so much. I'm glad your brother got to experience it.
