I too love RiverBirch. I had to tell you that I accidentally bought Coyote Alabaster( satin), so I put it under Winterwood… and got a satin looking River Birch! I’ve only done a test tile so far, but it shows promise! Thank you for the amazing kiln opening, once again.

Your studio green is nice! Not too turquoise but like a fresh apple. Did you share that recipe? I would like to try it out 😊

Sure you can find it in the description in this video. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dISGutuierm8pLQ.htmlsi=ave3LN0TRoB_3xvg If you are familiar with making glazes, I would suggest you calcine half of the ravenscrag in the recipe. Just pop it in the kiln in a bisqued piece, only 1 ramp, set speed to 500F per hour and go to 1000F, Hold for 30 minutes. This allows the ravenscrag to shrink a bit and prevents crawling. I have seen recipes without calling to calcine it, but digital fire recommends you do, and I hate dealing with crawling so i take the extra step. Other than that, it is a very simple recipe.

Your beautiful cranberry glaze from Pottery Supply House looks like the “Red Onion Gloss”. Does that sound right? I really love it and it works so nicely layered with other reds and pinks. ❤

Love the snow-woman! And thanks for the info on using glaze with clear cover. You said you underglazed the fox but didnt put clear glaze over it. Did you put anything over it- looks quite shiny on the video (and I thought underglazes HAD to be covered in clear)? I'm a novice so not across it all yet- any advice much appreciated 😊 Merries and happies from Australia

I used an underglaze that was more like a stroke and coat. So it fired shiny

I use Tuckers MSS and find it fires with a yellow hue that affects pink and blue glazes... what do you do? (Raspberry Mist, Rose Quartz, Norse Blue, all by Mayco specifically.. well and other glazes as well but those are the ones off the top of my head) the studio fires to cone 5.5 or cone 6... and i've had the same results at both cones. The only way I can get the colors to appear as they should is if I put them over white slip or white glaze

Hmmm I’ve never had that problem. I’ve had Norse blue go a bit greenish when I’ve applied it too thin. Could it be the thickness of your glaze application?

@@finklepottery704 I've gone from brushing it to pouring it and it still goes greenish :/
