Pothos Identification Guide | Epipremnum Aureum 'Marble Queen' vs 'Snow Queen'?!

Hi everyone!

Today's video is going to be a video I really wish I had when I was first starting out, it's a Pothos Identification Guide! How to tell apart all of the common varieties of Pothos (aka Epipremnum Aureum). Snow Queen vs Marble Queen?! Pearls n Jade vs N'joy?! Please keep in mind that these names are relative to where I live in California, and other places around the world have different names for them!
How many pothos varieties do you have? Let me know if the comments!

Yes! Pothos is my top recommendation for new plant owners. They are so easy. They are good communicators too, telling you when they want water. They are super-easy to propagate. I also read that they contain a natural rooting hormone so if you want to root another plant, add a cutting of pothos in the water with it.

I just got a Global Green pothos also. It's very cute but the variegation is sort of unstable meaning that sometimes I see it with high variegation and mine doesn't really have high variegation so it looks a bit like a reverted NJoy.

Great video and super healthy gorgeous plants! FYI Epipremnum are not epiphytes, they are terrestrial climbers ie they root in soil and use other plants to climb. Epiphytes are plants that "root on" (hook on) trees without a need for soil. Some epiphytes also climb but most don't (like orchids for example).

Thanks for the definition of Pothos and Philodendron! I've a "Neon Pothos" which I've suspected to be a Philodendron due to the shape of the aerial roots which is another distinction I've heard that separates Pothos and Philodendron. The way you've explained how the leaves and stems form in the respective plants also confirms my thoughts.

Hi, there's also a new one been brought out a "white sport". And have you heard of a "miami blanco", blanco because there's a green version and a white, was told it's a cultivar of the marble, would be good to know if it's just another name for something else, but it does look different. There's a "glacier" that's very popular here in England that's different to any you've shown.

I think you technically could, but it would be much more difficult to find seeds than the plant!

Where did you get your n’joy from? Curious if I can eventually find it at a big box store or if I’m going to have to buy at a nursery or online 💕

I’m not entirely sure, but I think they’re basically the same. N’joy is a patented name so I think some sellers call it glacier?

Where does the glacier pothos fit in? Is that another name for the Pearl's and Jade? So confused.

Glacier is N’joy! I believe it’s because n’joy is a trademarked name so other growers call it glacier. I’ve also been told that glacier leaves are bigger than n’joy, but I don’t think that’s true. Likely just from different growing conditions vs a difference in cultivar

It's considered a stable variegation so it's unlikely!
