Thanks to pothos plant, i no longer need water change. I only top up when the water level is low. For best result, you still need to clean your mechanical filter every 1 to 2 weeks. My nerite snail love their stay and in returned I have no algae in my glass from side to buttom. They even lay eggs. 😊

I hear a lot of claims on what pothos can do to improve aquarium water quality. However, I have never seen a controlled experiment that demonstrates and supports what I consider to be highly exaggerated claims. This is after using pothos myself for 10 years in a large fish room. I like the pothos and consider it more of a novelty but far inferior to large water changes to eliminate by-products of fish metabolism.

Lol, I would say the music is a tad noisy…. Or I can’t multiscape, I mean multitask Nice fish visuals, some jumpy scenes and mad zooming and listening to you all at the same time, it’s a lot… But again, nothing negative here, happy to rewatch 👍🏾

There's a misconception that pothos contains a toxic substance called calcium oxalate. While true, this compound is present in many plants and requires very acidic environments (below pH 4.5) to dissolve in water at harmful levels.

I have used pothos for 15 years on several of my aquariums. The claims made in this video regarding water quality improvements are highly exaggerated and theoretical. At best pothis aid somewhat in water quality improvements at worse they are merely a novelty for a natural system. Most aquarium set ups in our homes cannot accommodate sufficient pothos plant mass to materially improve water quality. Rapidly growing submerged and floating aquatic plants do a much better job of fish metabolism waste removal. I say this after many experiments and hearing how msny aquarists who are misled on pothos typically cut back on water changes to the detriment of their overall water quality.. Moral of the story "in God we trust, everyone else bring data" 😮
