A drone at this price point should have at least a 9km transmission as well as a 3-axis gimbal, the dji mini 2 se and the fimi x8 mini v2 are both good choices.

I got mine today and will fly it soon. There is a version of this model that does have a gimbal, FYI

Never thought I'd be interested in getting a drone until a new neighbour in our rural area decided to start buzzing us with his and making my dogs go crazy. He is foolish. He has homing pigeons that have been shitting on my solar panels. Once I get my drone, we'll see how his homing pigeons enjoy my drone chasing them.

The design of their remote is very similar to the fimi X8 mini series, and I'm not sure if they borrowed, or more accurately copied, fimi's design.

Nice, really nice, and no WiFi - that's refreshing. Like you say, the gimbal is the only real let down point and may be a deal breaker for some. A range test in the valley has to be your next video. All in all I'm quite impressed. Excellent review thank you 😀

Thanks Keith! This is the Atom SE. Kind of like the dji mini se. So just like there’s the dji mini, there will be an Atom. Which will have I believe a three axis gimbal :) And yes, I did do a range test in the valley and did pretty good. 2km. Both distance and video. So, when it looses video it loose connection and visa versa. I’ll do a range test again but at the highest point I can get to with relative ease and try for the 4km that it claims to have. As for the Atom, of course the review when I get my hands on it :)

The video quality and the quad are not bad, good job Pete.

Thanks Greg! For a small drone without a gimbal, the video quality is better than most. I like how it hovers in place and the video looks like a photo.

I love mine my next drone will be the atom it has the 3xgimbal

There's a few annoying things about this Quad, but it's definitely something to look into for a sub $250 Quad. 🤔🤔. I like the RC design, I like the phone being in the middle, and two real external antennas.

This one is good quality as well. I usually pass the drone I test on to someone else but I will be keeping this one :)

While the drone is in use, does the map at the bottom left hand corner show road names when you're near one?

I brought this drone and uploaded so footage on here. I like this drone so far pretty fun little drone.

Nice video. Is it also possible to let the drone follow me closer? Not that high.... Maybe 3 m behind me?

People always seem to fly the drone up hight and then go back-and-forth. What about keeping it low and slow moving around cones To learn how to fly at and build basic skills. Before taking a high up in the air where you can barely see it. I don't have a drone yet i'm still looking but I plan on Keeping my drone low so I can learn basic skills. Moving around without going 200 feet in the air and 400 feet away from me...

I had one and used it for maybe four hours and the camera stopped going up and down. Spent about 330 with three batteries. They (customer service sucks) Having jump thru hoops just trying to get a replacement. Again I had it not even a week. So I would email them and wait a day and it went on for almost a week. I just sent it back to Amazon. Going for a DJI If you really look at these drones a lot of them look alike just different names. Bottom line is if you have the money get the best you can get and make sure the customer service is there.

I’ve been wanting a drone for quite some time now. In order me one a couple of days ago it will be here July 10. I can’t wait to use it. Quick question for you guys to operate a a drone on a normal basis. Is it hard to fly or is it easy to learn how to fight? Because I really want to get the hang of it because my dad has a food plot behind the house, and I want to get a aerial view of it

Fly in a humongous of an area you can find without trees and such for the first few days. You'll get the hang of it :)

What mini sd u are using

Bought this drone a few days ago. It comes with all the accessories and stuff but I didn’t see anything about a microSD card does it come with one by any chance or do I have to buy one separately?

Yes, this is a very good drone! Although I would not have minded if it weighed more but had a gimbal instead. I think Potensic could release a slightly heavier drone with a gimbal and it will sell!

I just purchased this drone for 170 bucks although I wish it had a gimbal on it man for less than 200 bucks i could not pass it up I got it because I am so scared of losing my mini 2 that I figure this one will be a little less stressful to fly and the fact that I want have to do that annoying wifi to phone connect is a big plus I know I will love this drone once I recieve it thanks rc for this great review.

Enjoy your drone! There will be a model with a three axis gimbal coming out soon. Price will be much higher I would think though but for the price you paid, cannot go wrong :)

Because it doesn't have a multi axis gimbal it is much easier to carry in your pocket or bag. I would have liked a smaller controller.

Maybe try resetting your phone. Sometimes it works.

I DON'T LIKE the drone changing the camera on it's own ... I used it for Aerial Photography and orthophoto mapping. I need the camera to shoot Nadir(straight down). It shoots straight down, then when I move 10 meters, the camera rotates up, about 20 degrees ... 20 shots on a path and 19 times, I have to rest the camera ... THIS IS NOT GOOD...

I just got mine yesterday and it is amazing. On takeoff, it lifts off and hovers at around 3 feet off the ground. It doesn't move at all until you move the remote.

I want to purchase a drone to follow me while jetskiing, doesnthis drone do that?
