The 2018 potato harvest follows one of the most challenging and driest growing seasons we have had in the Netherlands. On August 31th we visit AEBV in Lelystad whilst they are lifting their Innovator seed potatoes. Harvesting is in the hands of a second generation Dewulf Kwatro 4-row bunker harvester.
Two modern classic John Deere tractors, a 6510 and 8100, can be seen carting the crop back to the farm where the potatoes are stored in boxes.
AEBV (owned by the Van der Eijk family) has farms located in Zeewolde, Lelystad and Numansdorp. The farm grows potatoes, onions, sugar beet, wheat and barley as their main crops along with lucern. They run a large fleet of John Deere tractors along with 1 Fendt tractor.
