    This video completely brought me back to when I was recovering with both my girls! The mesh underwear is KEY! I made sure to stock up the second time around lol! It really is so crazy what our bodies are capable of doing and I couldn't agree with you more -- it is so important to give yourself grace, listen to our bodies and allowing it to recover properly. With that being said, you look AMAZING! Motherhood looks incredible on you! Love you!

    One thing that happened to me - not sure if anyone else has experienced this but I developed a rash from the Always Maxi pads I was using after I ran out of what the hospital gave me ... not comfortable to deal with when you already have a lot going on down there as is 😅😅😅. So for the future, I think I will look into getting a different type of pad more like the ones the hospitals provide! Also, in the beginning I just wanted to cherish every little moment that sometimes I wouldn’t sleep when I really should have been sleeping I.e. when baby was asleep so once I finally started forcing myself to sleep when baby slept, recovery seemed to speed up a bit - rest is so key!

    I’m actually not post partum yet buuut I have had rashes with those type of pads and I feel like it has to do with the pad retaining moisture on the sides and that’s how I got rashes and it suuuucked

    This may be a weird question, but how does the blood and fluid soak into the pad with so much on it? I’ve heard of some putting ice packs on there’s as well so I’m wondering how the blood absorbs...

  • @jenngranados825

    @jenngranados825

    4 жыл бұрын

    Kelsey Stringer the hospital will give you ice packs if you ask for them and they kinda absorb some of the fluids... Personally I just used the adult diapers with the witch hazel patches because for me it was uncomfortable to put sooo much on there so every time I would go pee (I still do I’m only 4 days postpartum) I rinse down there with that squirt bottle that the hospital gives you with cold water and Pat dry put on the diaper lay on the witch hazel patch and good to go :) my bleeding has practically stopped I know it’s different for everyone tho

  • @happilyevernancy

    @happilyevernancy

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hi Kelsey! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch! And totally not a weird question at all! :) The mesh underwear, pad and ice pack combo provided by the hospital was really intense and it all just absorbs like Jenn said below! It did get uncomfortable wearing it because everything was so heavy and it just gets heavier as it soaks up all the fluid and blood. It did a good job soaking everything up though and the heaviest flow was when I was at the hospital! Once I got home I just used an overnight maxi pad and the underwear I mentioned and packed on the witch hazel pads which are relatively thin, they aid more in cooling & soothing versus soaking up fluids. I hope this helps!

    Hi mama! Congratulations!! how are you feeling? After giving birth for a second time a month ago, the main things I used for recovery was a Frida Mom Peri Bottle, Witch Hazel Pads, Perineal Healing Foam, Disposable Undies, pads & liners. I had a minor 1st degree tear for my recent labor as opposed to a 2nd degree tear during my first so recovery wasn't as intense. Is there anything I can help support you with to help prep you for labor?

    Vicki Sexton I brought a pack on Amazon not realizing it was a double pack! But I get heavy cycles so I’ll use them as overnight pad later! Otherwise I think the diapers are good for just a few days you shouldn’t be bleeding that heavy after 3/4 days

  • @happilyevernancy

    Hi Vicki thanks for watching! and omg I hope all is well!!! and congratulations on your baby girl! :) The hospital mesh underwear was amazing for holding down the ice packs and all the heavy pads that I had to wear right after labor and the 2 days when I was in the hospital recovering. That's when my bleeding was the heaviest. The adult diapers were great too at home and I only had one pack going into it postpartum and in total, I used about a pack and a half, but you can always buy more if you need it! I totally forgot to take some extra mesh underwear home but it felt nice to slowly start getting back into regular underwear as you heal up to not feel bulky down there :)

    Have you given birth yet? Prep easy freezer meals and quick to prep things, seek out if there are any post partum doula services or community groups in your area (some areas have free or discounted services for women in financial hardship). Don't feel like you need to go through birth and new mum life alone (obvs Covid-19 makes all this harder) but seek out supportive connections online and wherever you can. Sending love from the sisterhood ❤️

    Hi there! Thank you so much for subscribing and congratulations mama!! :) How are you doing? From what I can remember I changed out the pads whenever they were feeling full but it was basically after every time I used the bathroom just to be sanitary and it was nice having a fresh pad :) I didn't shower after giving birth until I went home 2 days after. But you can totally shower, it's just at that moment it was hard enough to get out of bed to use the bathroom right after delivery so I skipped it. I did wash my face though so that was a good refresh!
