I’m proud of all of these kids! They are all fantastic!

First I found Matt, then Kaycee, then Sean, then bailey, then jade, then mia( one of my new faves to study from)then I found alex, then I found Phil, then I found the blonde girl in plug walk in his videos( don’t know who I’m talking about? Her expressions make such a difference you just..feel it. Or I do) Then I found y’all Now I have a home I won’t live with regret, but now that I’ve started dancing, it LEGiT FEELs as though I’ve been supposed to do this my entire life. Seriously. Seriously. When I was 4/5 I used to do power ranger moves to music dancing around my living room and the local dance teacher would come and watch me...yet I never took a single class, went on to play most all sports, guitar, in bands, rap, rap albums, coast to coast mixtapes, none of it felt as right as dancing does. A lot of my sports fan friends say “I don’t like how friendly the players are across teams these days”. I’m over here like “omg the nba community is so amazing right now, ThAts why the league is getting so good so fast, CuZ guys like lebron will take it to you during the game, but also let you call them at 2 AM for advice” This is why dance completes me more than sports did. The community and camaraderie. I love y’all out there watching and participating in these videos. I love the support I see in both the videos and the comment boards. I go on an NBA board to talk sports and it’s all negative. Thank y’all. “The camaraderie, I outta be here With the beat in my ear watch the heat come outta me clear”

My favorite part of these dances is watching the dancers' faces....it's hard for me to focus on those pretty mugs with so much camera movement. Although, I do enjoy the lower angles!

Lucretia Fields millennium dance studio in studio city LA. If you daughter has a true passion for dancing get her started and just support her. I was dancing around my living room to *NSYNC doing power ranger moves at 4/5 and even had the local dance teach come watch me and love it. Never ended up taking classes...biggest mistake of my life. Wish my parents( I’m not blaming them it’s totally cool) got me to just try one class...

Last group, girl in the middle was having a hard time finding the right rhythm for the beat. The two behind her (especially the girl in the grey sweats) had it. The fact that she was "off" and up front was unfortunate.

awesome choreo, especially the first verse section. All of the dancers were awesome. The first trio (of course) and the second guy were sick. I have to say that I am still incredibly distracted when some of these gifted dancers are making these ridiculous facial expressions. Aside from them being extremely awkward, they don't suit the song. Dancing is about being in character, it's a show. The weird competition faces shouldn't exist on any stage, let alone these children.

Ok this is amazing I’m not trying to be a hater! But is it possibly true that Phil has less musicality in his choreography that someone like Alex Chung or Matt Steffanina?? I’m really not trying to be mean. The movies are still very impressive! It’s just that when I watch the videos it feels like his steps to match up with or interpret the lyrics and instruments. Of course they are on beat and very fast and nice etc, but they don’t seem to be an interpretation of the music or lyrics the way that some other artists choreography feels. I could be wrong. I don’t necessarily even want to be right! There’s just something about Phil’s videos that seems to be lacking compared to the others I mentioned. You know when the way you move your body almost seems to be illustrating the musical progression or specific lyric? I don’t see that a lot in here. Watch Matt’s choreo to “no limit”. His moves clearly illustrate the lyrics so well. When the lyrics say “jogging in place” or “outta shape” “my career taking off”, note the moves that accompany those lyrics. The musicality is so on point! I’ve been a natural dancer for some time but I’m now learning the terminology and studying the art much closer and trying to merge that with my natural ability to move to music. I guess I’m just trying to get a better grasp on musicality and figure out if it’s true that that is why Phil’s choreo doesn’t engage me the way Matt’s does etc. could be wrong! Could be missing the point or something! If someone is well versed in this area and can give me an unbiased answer or an opinion I would love that!
