This is 100% true; my ideas usually come at random, unplanned times.

As a songwriter, i absolutely agree with Post that a really good song comes from a organic process. Whenever i try to make a song with the mindset of getting something good from it, it never flows.

The "organic process" of taking a shit?
The thing they all have in common is inspiration. As long as there’s inspiration you can create anything
This video helped me remember and understand that i can’t control my inspiration, and that i have to stay true to Myself. Thanks Post and the people who put this compilation of videos together, well done.

Its not the song its the package. The person delivering the song is everything. Not to mention lables not so subtle way of planting it into our minds
He uses the word "sir" a lot. ❤
very true. So many times I had writers block and could not for the life of me force myself to finish what I was writing, but later it would just come to me
@InceyWincey

My trick is just to write nonsense and then change it later. Often halfway through writing something stupid and meaningless the right line will come to me.
Some of my best songs that I wrote just came to me....I just got on the mic n started recording phrases n once I finish, I'm always amazed
I'm a writer and Post's process is amazingly similar to my own. He talks about how it just comes "naturally" and without force. I don't even think I do anything more than go into a fugue state and type. Next thing I know, the story or essay is done.

Hit songs required a few ingredients good melodies, catchy hooks and decent lyrics. Coming up with the catchy melodies and make everything blend in is the hard part it requires creativity and talent

It’s hard in the beginning.
Writing a hit song ain't hard, I know many songwriters who have not one, but many great songs which will never be heard. The hard part for most artists is distributing it and making money out of it. Marketing is the genius of most successful musicians, not product.

I feel this! Writing is easy to me.. but producing vocals and mixing it.. I can't get it down for the life of me. I been self learning for a couple years. I got the basics of compression, eq, reverb, etc . Mixing or producing is the hardest part for me.
Post malone is such a kind person to everyone, just a good dude
I made a lot of songs back then, called "follow me, try again, and a lot more.." so its so easy for me to understand him..
thanks for this compilation.
As an artist myself i am super grateful for this video!
You can’t rush creative prosess
I have been listening to post for a very long time I must say you are a great and natural writer
Your ideas are far from mistakes, it is very organic. Your sound, style, personality, is just plain fucking cool. His music really is spiritual to alot of folks. Thank you sir, you are an exceptional story writer/singer/songwriter/actor & I believe you are a true empath that works on the musical concert level.

Facts, I’ve written many songs in the shiter as well 😂 also dont force it, make use of prompts but sometimes it just comes to you.
I love how respectful post Malone is!
Marketing is everything. My channel is living proof… most of my tracks I make within a week and it’s just me improvising mostly… without the lofi branding my tracks would just be random instrumentals. Granted I’ve put my heart and soul into them but it’s the combination of both that has made made more than half a million views in about 6 weeks.
it's called creativity.
that magic thing is the soul you put in to it. its a part of you that comes out.
Finding the worth in the tangents of creation and shaping the worth within the little nuggets of tangential creativity and non-linear planning is the genius of creatively producing sounds
I agree with this 💯 I write all my songs spur of the moment and I have some really nice ones that are definitely hit material.

Make KZread shorts lip singing the song and post it a million times if it’s a hit KZread will let you know and people will use the sound in their shorts and it’ll be a hit
it always depends on the artist but the best art comes when you're in a place of tranquility, yet also turmoil.
I want to collaborate with post one day, see if it comes to pass
Good video! Thank you!
So young, so handsome and so dang talented!
Just do it your own way ✌️
Are there any tips on wirting a song being a feature
Honestly, out of all the songs I've ever recorded. The song that flowed to me the most natural way, is my MOST liked/streamed song out my whole catalog. It showed me that, when you're trying "too hard" with the lyrical miracle, bragadocious stuff, it comes off less authentic. BE AUTHENTIC. LET IF FLOW. It doesn't always have to be about crazy rhymes. SN: I wrote this song passed midnight. Literally looking up at the stars at night. Today, it's my most streamed song. And to think, i debated on even dropping it. Im glad I DID.

Wow! This dude is something! He's right! A hit song or award winning performance ..it must come from your passion, your expression! you can't really control the process. Madonna once said " It's all about the work, the project. Success is a byproduct of the work." Anyone can do an impression of a singer or actor. To do something Original, Something that Hasn't been done a hundred times....Whoa! Malone is original and different from the rest! His brutal honesty, a sense of organic and familiar... His " I've effed up, but I'm still trying to be happy!" Is what he brings to his music. His song Chemical...... it's probably too honest for some. too candid, explicit That's what makes it cool! He's Not afraid to admit he effed up! So many performers act as though they execute everything perfectly! Malone isn't like that! He's Honest and he appreciates his fans!
The narrator makes me feel like we're about to see two post Malone's charge each other for dominance over a fish

yeah music sometimes happens but you gotta remember those musicians who stood the test of time sat down and WROTE music. BWV 565 didn't he happen on a toilet seat bach wrote the thing by knowing the language of notes and how to use them to make sentences that are understandable by anyone.
I have lucid dreams. When I awake, I hum the melodies into my voice memos app. Once I start working on the foundation of the melody, I start building a song structure around it. Listen to A Village of Vigils

Why did they edit out the word “better”?
he is right. Sometimes you hop on a beat and u destroy all of them. When you learn form it, next time you will be able to make 60% of that moment even when u dont feel like creating. But most bangers arfe like " fuck, this is nice melody, let me freestyle it"
pero que hit escribio este hombre que no escuche ninguno?
It’s all about what’s popular to the most kids of the day.
fabulous
There's no guarantee that a song is going to be a hit and I don't think there's anything like a hit song. You just get into the studio and grind, I have seen overlooked songs become the career changing song
How can you not love Post Malone

Most of this music is written while taking a shit. this explains a lot.
I write my own music, I have 0 confidence to make actual songs, but I can agree, coming up with lyrics come at the most random times. I usually write my music when I’m laying in bed at night and I’m watching KZread videos 😂 it’s weird.

One would say his ideas flow out of him.
Post Malone writes songs based on what he just listened to - there's a ton of STP, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden riffs (and even melodies) in many of his songs and I cannot believe he hasn't been sued into bankruptcy yet for ripping everyone off.
