mounted my post drill its a canedy otto mfg. model number 3 probably 100 years old. works like a champ.

interesting relic that you have there. i believe that i have a next generation one - craftsman with an electric motor and steper pulley system - which is about the same age as yours. to get the motor started on it, i need to turn on its switch first - then you can heard a little humming sound - right after that i give the belt a little pull so it could get started. i really dont use it at all because is so old that i will probably destroy it in the process, and there are no more parts for it, but it looks cool as a vintage piece of art deco machinery lol

:D funny you say it works like a champ... as it is a Champion Post Drill, You should hold on to that they are going up in price as we speak. Restored they can be a little bit pricey. Depending on which model you have they were made in the late 1800s to the early 1900s. Your particular model looks to be the 102ish range which would be around 1910-1920. Nice piece.

You are a lucky man to have a post drill of that size it will come in real useful you can also add a elect motor if you want then you are in business
