4 of the boys did their technical work at technical soccer tuition in melbourne, 2 from absolute beginners. wrapped to see that that they are impressing a few people.

Joner, I grew up playing soccer here in the states, Texas to be exact. I am 38 and have been coaching for many years. I had my "D" license many years ago before US soccer revamped the whole program. I am currently finishing up my grass roots programs. I have been watching your videos for sometime and just recently subscribed. I have been wanting to privately train for many years but just kept coming up with excuses. I am currently coaching my sons U8 team. This season I had parents ask if they could bring their boys out to train with mine because they saw how my boys played. That and you have motivated me to give private lessons. I have learned a lot from you. Thank you for showing these young ones how to play. FYI, I have taken some of your drills to my coaching sessions.

Great session to teach decision making, working mechanics of touch, and get any player to move off the ball instead of waiting to receive the ball.

I think a key coaching point is to move only after you pass if your space has been closed down, and you can attack a more dangerous space. Furthermore, one should take into consideration fake runs to deflect defenders for your teammates, or staying in your position if you're heavily marked for attacking threat and you have passed the ball into a more dangerous area. Finally, all the off-the-ball movements share one principle: Create numerical superiority in defensive weak spots (space/gaps/holes), occuring generally behind or between lines (so these are generally the areas you want to drop down or charge into). A question I like to ask my players: 'Always ask yourself: what countermove (the initial 'bait') can I make to open up space in the danger area I've identified (for myself or for an overlapping player)?'

Love it. Am so Jelly!!! Sure wish we had this training in the DMV...wink wink. These boys are definitely on the right path. Good to see their level of touch and intensity. These boys must be around my son's age 10, and I know I can't stress enough the need to "Scan to Plan" on/off the ball and not get stuck watching the ball. Crack of Dawn training, that's dedication!

Sir nice job as always... some players play on grass which is soccer, but totally different play. Just a thought, having a small area of rough or bumpy like egg carton... or piece of plywood to make the ball react differently to help players development control over wacky ball. Or a ball with bumps to make it bouncer

Top top session Joner! Visual cues are key, eg. Having the boxes in the possession drill. Is there any way you could you encourage more decisions in the first couple drills. Would you do anything differently to get this? Would be interested in your take?
