Hi doctor , I am now 25 years old and I suffer from malformation of the skull and this issue is tormenting me a lot. Is there a way to cure it, if the answer is no, my question is why science does not think about making the bones flexible and correct. Why doesn't science want to help people like us who are victims of something we never had a part in and are completely unhappy about it?

Is flat head syndrome can effect body growth?? Pls doc reply .

Thank you for your question. We do not see an association between positional plagiocephaly and body growth.

@@Thebluewidesky thanks for replying , with all my respect i think it's treatable , i'm not a doctor but when cancer patients go through craniectomy and they get half of their skull reconstructed back using 3d models to retrieve the symmetry , i guess it's possible for people with plagiocephaly to go through the same procedure except there is no tumor to be removed ... , how could this be impossible when it's possible and used for cancer , trauma patients ...

@@BlackEswadeh hello man, I think I came late but I will say its because the procedure has some irreversible results which cancer patients will ignore to remove what's putting them down, and let's not forget the price for such procedures which people like me who are still young dosent have.

@Abed-Elkareem Massarweh commonly, u can undergo this surgery in a lot of md’s in korea, they do it so fast, safe and easy, but u gotta have the money

The problem isn't necessarily sleeping on one side of the head (that doesn't help), the cause/problem is lack of dynamic movement, especially from the neck muscles. The skull deformation is the effect. If your child isn't being strapped against surfaces or confined to a single position for hours in the day, this condition will never happen. Let them explore their full range of movement; the human body was made to move! In general, in extended periods of stillness, the body will take on the form of the position and forces that it's being chronically subjected to. Positional Plagiocephaly is 100% PREVENTABLE!

Man I have this stupid issue with my head and it’s embarrassing to be seen around Everybody else doesn’t have to worry about it expect for me I hate the way my head is shaped And I’ll never be able to fix it.

Total bullshit the flattening pushes the cranial base the whole face gets skewed and not only the ear surgeons are just stupid wrong and always use the nose as midline while in plagiocephaly the midline is deviated so the nose is not the midline anymore. People who have plagiocephaly as adult tend to rotate the head to look forward this also causes the body making up for the rotation so most people with plagio have scoliosis. Dont believe me? Try using the neck as midline and make your patients look up and down it will look like the face rotates away from you. Plagiocephaly is not a benign condition like some would say. Its actually a top 3 worst deformitys to have because it is unfixable and people dont like to hear it but its 100% because of parent neglection or unawareness

It actually is fixable, if you have good insurance surgery’s will be less amount. To improve chin symmetry u can get braces. You can get a fat transfer out of your cheek. And get a skull implant
