Position Tracking in Mergin Maps
Mergin Maps has a great new feature: position tracking. This video explores this new feature. We'll start with creating a basic project and setting it up for position tracking in QGIS. Then we'll see how to use it in the field for tracking our position and mapping locations. Finally, we'll see how to synchronise the field data with the project when we're back in the office and we'll create a simple visualisation of the pictures taken along the route.

Yes, Mergin Maps (app, cloud applicatjon and plugin) are open source. However, you can also choose to use the cloud service hosted by Mergin Maps, which is free for education and non profits. Here's more info about the plans: merginmaps.com/pricing
how is the consupmtion of battery?

You can control battery consumption in the Mergin Maps properties settings as shown in the video. It controls the frequency of GPS readings for position tracking. Other factors are related to the health of your battery, power consumption of your phone, temperature, etc.
