This summer, UW #Badger Tierney Athorp studied abroad in Portugal through our UW Movement as Medicine in Portugal program!
This is why Tierney chose this program: "One reason I chose this program is because it would allow me to learn and analyze lifestyle choices, physical activity, and sedentary behavior in a fully immersive and hands-on way in such a beautiful country! I hope to build a stronger knowledge foundation regarding cultural context and physical activity to better serve and understand my future patients and their lifestyles. I most look forward to learning about and experiencing what different lifestyle behaviors look like in Lisbon, and how this differs from the cities I grew up in."
