Portugal’s Digital Nomad Visa D8 - FAQ - Busting through the bureaucratic & linguistic barriers

The D8 visa may be an excellent choice if you or a family member wants to stay in Portugal for an extended period of time and can work remotely through self-employment or current employer, but how does it stack up against Portugal’s other visa options?
Join us to find out all about it with Ei! Migration Agency’s specialists. They’ll be bringing us all the latest information and addressing the most frequently asked questions, including:
1. Digital Nomad Visa of 1 year (temporary) or 2 years (residency), what is the difference?
2. Freelancer, business owner and employee, are all of those working options eligible?
3. Is it necessary to present savings?
4. Proof of accommodation in Portugal: rental agreement of 4 months or 1 year, which is best?
If you want to find out more about the requirements or have a query about your ongoing D8 Visa process, this webinar is for you.

🙏Just wanted to ask. If you are earnings are taxed in another country as a remote worker. How does it affect your tax responsibility in Portugal. Will you pay additional tax

I’ve watched numerous videos about proving accommodation in Portugal but nobody has addressed how the hell you choose an apartment/house without actually physically touring a property to know if it’s an acceptable place to live that you’re committing to a 12 month obligation.

Hi, if we would like to move there with D8, how much active income and savings should we show for two adults and two kids who are under 18 to increase the chances of obtaining the visa?

Having to jump through hoops to deal with SEF and Portuguese bureaucracy? No thanks! I think all of the Americans that return speaks volumes to the degree that Portugal matches their expectations. I have been to Portugal twice, and I do love it there, and it does feel like it could be a home to me personally. I feel like most Americans though would not necessarily fit in with Portuguese culture or enjoy the differences of living there. However, being lucky that I have a direct pathway to EU citizenship I think going that route and then being able to simply move there and move somewhere else is a much more palatable idea than jumping in head first for all that’s involved in a D7 or D8. Think very long and hard if you think you want to uproot your whole life and move to another continent.
