I spent 5 weeks in Praia da rocha last October and ate at the Bistro Italiano many nights. Food was very good and staff were great. Cheers.

thats the best curry house in rocha, i always found portions a bit small though making a proper feed quite expensive. the wee stand sells chocolate cups with cherry liquor with a fresh cherry in it. taffys is good and does food and pub quiz nights etc .its changed in size since the pandemic. pinnochio italian is new. tried it in may. it was not bad, a bit different from the usual. bulli and pupe has nice rissotto and steaks, its very popular that view point at the end is great in winter for sunsets. sometimes when its mobbed down the strip. its a nice place to stroll, theres actually a wee resort 10 minutes walk up that end street : ) the train at portimao allows access at other resorts for cheap. lagos, faro etc. portimao to lagos is 2.20 each way. some of the others need an expensive taxi connection though. villamoura, albufeira pera etc. Can also go to silves which is a medieval town with a castle and winding streets. perhaps similar to stirling castle approach. its fantastic during the medieval festival, street food and also cheap beers at the local football club stalls. can be hot in august up their though. can still be well into the high 30's at night. i hope you enjoyed portugal :)

How are you my Friend? I've not long returned from a week in Tavira Algarve. I nipped over to Ayamonte Spain for 2 days as well. Train to Harbour... €2.80. Ferry to Spain... €2.20. Two Beautiful Towns. I head back to Praia Da Rocha on Oct 16th-23rd. I'll use The Flor Da Rocha Hotel as my Base-camp. While using Public Transport/Walking to visit... Lagos, Alvor, Portimao, Ferragudo & Silves. It was great to get back to Foreign Trips again! Though I've had 11, 5 day long Trips to your Beautiful Country. This year! I mean Edinburgh. My Favourite UK City. I seen our wee Queen twice... And even got my very own Personal wave from Her Majesty. One of the Highlights of my Life. Not forgetting the Fringe Festival & The Military Tattoo (At bloody last! lol.) I'll be back to travelling ever month, again. And If I see you? I'll say Hello. You Shudda hadda 'nosey' in Pinocchio's? lol. And Taffy's Bar is my local when I'm there. Great food, Screens for Sport. Karaoke & Quiz nights. Not forgetting the Sunday Roast! I Love the Town... And visit, often! Best Beaches and the 5th Safest Country to visit in the World! Keep the Blogs, coming my Friend. All the Best from Belfast...O

Beautiful Kevin and how PDR has grown over the years as half of those places were not there. There was a taffys bar with the Welsh dragon sign but it was tiny so still loved the resort thanks for bringing back memories 😃

@@ScotsmaninTenerife transfer is 40 mins direct from faro airport. Should of found that first tapas tucked away round the corner. The cheapest bar is the moon light bar has cheap drinks till 7ish locally owned

Private taxi using toll road 55 mins non toll 75 mins if multi drop up to 120 mins done all 3 use private now lol get the first sagres quicker lol
