I'm an artist myself and so I've always been interested in urban art that's been happening in Portugal for a good decade or maybe 20 years at this point, I don't even know the name of the style / movement it represents, but it's been here for a while, very underground, but I've always been fascinated by it. It's a mix of hard culture from the past with a very futuristic vision, a celebration of art and life through sorrow, almost as it was inspired by fado. Conan grabs it all, puts it in a blender perfectly and represented it PERFECTLY. It honestly makes me proud of what we delivered there as a country. Conan is a brilliant artist. And most people don't understand it now, but it's gonna be referenced in the future art books as a iconic moment of a certain art movement.

@Piotr Sawicki Don't get me wrong, I love this song, it was in my Top 5 in 2019 and I was gutted that it didn't make it to the final. But what made me fall in love with this entry was the National Final performance and not the actual Eurovision Semi-Final performance. When you look back at the National final, the entire performance is mesmerising, visually arresting and the messaging is clear even if you don't understand the lyrics. The vocals, outfits, choreography and staging Eurovision SF performance to me was notably not as good as in previous performances. On the night, the majority of viewers are not Eurovision superfans, they don't know the history of the song or have the opportunity to fall in love with better past performances from Conan, so yeh I see why this song didn't qualify!

This performance, like the song itself, is absolutely not for an unprepared listener. This is a very peculiar material, but at the same time really high quality. I love this song, it's a bit scary but it's brilliant!

It's been over a year and I still can't get over this I've been watching Eurovision for 20 years and this song has instantly become my absolute favorite

So ahead of it's time. One of my all time favourites and with Horehronie from 2010, goes to the book of non-finalists whose songs became Eurovision classics.

Why this song didn't qualified?? It's superb...out of this world ❤️ Respect Portugal from Albania

Quite honestly one of the biggest Eurovision crimes in a very long time. I will never understand how this masterpiece didn't qualify but Serhat did with 'Say Na Na Na'.

Agree, Portugal was top semi-final performance for me. I would also add Iceland, which could win. Laibach group had performances like Iceland.

People always fear what they can't understand, so they stick to the same old plane boring pop songs! Open your minds and don't always choose the same style of music, they deserve more! This is art!This is so different and beautiful at the same time!! Conan was just to good for eurovision!

still don't understand how we didn't went to the grand final with this song. forever my favorite entry from my country.

So I started to learn português with this song. The words here are so darkly gripping. Portugal sends every year their melancholical fado with modern vibes and I just looooving it. They are so true to themselves.

No, just no. Had you said that Portugal sends Fado-influenced songs, that would be at least debatable. However, modern vibes or not, Portugal hasn't sent a Fado tune to the Eurovision in ages. I'm not the biggest Fado listener *by any means*, but this isn't Fado either. Glad you're learning Portuguese, though! Not an easy language (sometimes, not even for native speakers). Would love to get an update on that. Cheers, abraço!

Thanks ❤ we're really proud of him. But after this I guess Portugal will sink again in eurovision with the last results. Conan had a lot of international support like we never saw before (just similar to salvador) but even with Spain , France, belgium in the same semi we couldn't make it...oh the same old days 😖

I congratulate Portugal for always sending songs that go beyond mass music, bringing a little something new to Eurovision. Unfortunately, many countries abandoned their languages and switched to pop songs in English, making them indistinguishable from each other.
