Thank you for sharing and showing this! It’s been my first ever paint-along, and a lovely early morning. You make such a welcome space to try something new!
your paint along videos are so helpful! great service to the art world
Like ur style of sharing knowledge. The world needs more of you. Luv it!! Thank you ...
I so appreciate you teaching as as opposed to just showing how to paint. You are so generous with your time and knowledge, I can’t tell you how much you are valued. Just a crazy little thing I do, to give you a laugh, while watching you, sometimes I want to say, “ straighten his nose, get the shadow on his head”. I’ll take my finger and dip it in the color and put it where it need to go - - - on my iPad.
Thank you for sharing. It's nice to see an artist that shares their techniques. This is my early Christmas present! I'm glad I was fortunate enough to find you and you now have a new subscriber!
Great works!! I’ve been watching your videos since early 2019 during my art thesis days.
Thank you so much for such detailed teaching for free, you are amazing.
I’m gonna painting this with you it’s really incredible and thank u for your time
Thank-you so much for taking the time to so generously share your thoughts, skills and general approach to painting portraits. (I'm also a big fan or Caravaggio so a real treat for me,) The free sharing of expertise such as yours is a wonder of the internet and a powerful force for good in a world blighted in so many ways by inequalities of opportunity.
It is mighty to watch you work I wish I had seen this before I attempted a painting of Rembrandt I did a degree in Fine Art we were not taught to paint at all thank you ,wonderful inspiration.
Your "paint Along" Videos are so helpful, I guess that’s what I needed, thank you so much. 🙏🏼 Please go on, you’re a big inspiration. You’ve got my sub 💪🏼🤍
Thank you so much for this, I was so happy with the results I could almost cry. I had seen Caravaggio's' David with head of goliath among others at the Galleria Borghese in Rome. Those paintings and the Bernini sculptures were the bucket list of my dreams. I have also seen the Crucifixion of Saint Andrew at the Cleveland Museum of Art. He has been an idol of mine. Thanks again
Lovely result. I enjoyed watching the study and your process. Thank you.
The Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, MO has Caravaggio’s St. John the Baptist in the Wilderness, which is my favorite painting. I made my own version with RayBans that I called Wayfaring Prophet as the original’s eye shadows looked like he was wearing sunglasses. Thanks. I learned several things that I’d do differently if I were to do another one.
I am so happy to have found your channel thank you so much 😀👍🙏🏻
Beautiful beautiful work. Great tutorial
I am just starting to do master studies and came straight to Yupari's site to look for a Caravaggio tutorial. Great job, thank you!
I did a draw along (pencil) as a practice of tones, this helped tons. Thanks so much, friend
I've actually seen a Caravaggio up close and personal, in particular his original 'Beheading of St. John the Baptist' which was (and still is) on display in the Oratory of St. John's Co-Cathedral in Malta. It was truly awesome to see and observe in its glory - I highly recommend a visit if you're planning on going to Malta ever. But anyway... Great video. You truly are an amazing artist and you certainly did Caravaggio justice in this one. Thank you. Keep up the great work and stay awesome! :)
Absolutely beautiful! Your very best video !!❤️❤️

There's a medical DC Doctor that has done studies on Caravaggio’s work. He's interested in teaching med students to look at their patients to figure out what's wrong with patients by looking at them, looking at skin color.plumpness joints etc etc.He uses Caravaggio's paintings like a vehicle to get his students to really see ,look at the patients instead of into the computers or something else. His last name is Espinell...Very interesting dude and very interesting studies .And I LOVE your long sessions.I could watch for hours and hours .Thank You again
Amazing!thank you❤️

Thanks for the vid! Inspired me to do a study of Caravaggio as well. I painted David with tempera paints. Turned out awful tbh, but it was very educational nevertheless. Hope to see more videos of this type in the future!

Probably my favorite artist of all times. Pre covid, I got to enjoy card sharps at the Kimball often. Top 5 Caravaggio, Rembrandt, David, Delacroix, Van Gogh. Raphael, Vermeer, Turner, Renoir, Klimt. Titian, Ruebens, Van Dyke, Goya, Degas. Hals, El Greco, Canaletto, Velaquez, Monet. Boticelli, Artimesia, Reynolds, Gainsborough, Munch? Don't you love art? Ooops top 20! What's yours?
thanks for this video.
Good color. Composition he turns into the pose.
Thank you! I was painting along, my painting turned out crap tough. But I love your videos, gave you a sub.
i am definitely subscribing. I have an AWFUL issue with committing to a piece and think perfection happens the second i put my brush down. seeing you make changes really helped me out.
thank you!!
I love this "series" of old masters don't stop doing it!!! please!. But how to make different textures, fur, foliage, feathers, rock, etc. would be interesting someday!, but from YOU! your way of make videos are one of the best in youtube! TANKS!
Thank you. How do you clean your wonderful palette? And your brushes?
Love the unedited
Cool..I love learning👍
outstanding...big thanks...did you do some great .Tonal Masters?
Very nice 👍🏼.... amazing .... thanx for your time ... i think the top of the head should be higher ... show more of the top of the head
Wow
Muito bom!
I love Rembrandt and Caravaggio because of their use of Chiaroscuro in painting. It cools my mind no matter what theme they worked on....Can one create something like this on a picture that has no dark background? Thank you sir
nice one
Great
could you consider making a Franz Hals or Manet paint along, please
I would be thrilled if I could sketch the outline of the face
Nice
omg I love you
This was a very beautiful approach to recreating this painting. While watching I kept thinking that your result reminded me of Rembrandt and how I can only assume he was influenced by Caravaggio. While I am a fan of both painters, I do wish that Caravaggio received a bit more attention from the public. His work vs. Rembrandt, to me seems to be more energetic, at times violent and yet, always very thoughtful. I often wonder why the worldwide interest in Rembrandt, much owing to the theft of the Mona Lisa, wasn’t actually eclipsed by Caravaggio and the theft of St. Jerome. In any case, it’s not that Caravaggio isn’t appreciated, it’s just that I consider him a better artist than Rembrandt.
This a great art! May I know what medium did you use for this ?
Fantastic work, omg ,you are skilled! I work on a painting for several month and are never happy with the results.I work with acrylic, and in my canvas there is small dots all over it,Because I paint over and over it. to many Times.
My favorite painter is Clair Basler
Very impressive Yupari 👍😊
