I would love to do self portrait of myself! It's so difficult to find the right tones for my skin. I've made myself interesting in different colours. But to find a way to match what I see is a process. I love this

This really helps see how to mix colors for darker skin, I hardly see that in the art community but it's starting to come out more hopefully. :)

Dark skin is a blessing . Lucky you 😍 + as i experienced , painting dark skin is much easier . When i first started i used to paint african women and they turned out to be so beautiful 💕

You're right, the airbrushed perfect portraits get old after 10/20/50 of them. The next portrait I paint, I'm going to paint someone with acne. Thanks for the inspiration!

I’m doing a commission right now and the person has acne and specifically asked me not to paint the acne so I don’t really know. I would’ve loved to paint it as it will be quite a challenge from my normal flawless sling but hey ho what ever the customer wants!

I cannot deal with the beauty produced in these works

You always cut out the bit when you refine the art and it moves from a painting with brush strokes to a hyper realistic piece 😩 how do you do it!! It’s like magic!!

Laura I'm just a new beginner to oil myself, but most oil painters tend to use the Dry Brush method to smooth and blend out the brush strokes, to make it look more hyper realistic and natural (instead of paint strokes like you said). I'm not sure if that's her preferred method, but most oil painters I know do that.

I admire your work Daria, amazing as always! ❤️This artwork specifically, I'm so amazed how beautifully paint darker skin types because it is very difficult to pull it off! Darker skin tones show more contrast as highlights appears so much brighter in the skin in comparison to fairer skin tones. Also since this is based on a reference, it is harder to recognize the warmness or coolness in the skin tone, so seeing this made me feel fuzzy and astonished with how you managed to do this and making it look so easy!
