Hello. I always like to get feedback from the people who watch my videos, because that's how I can improve. Also, I try to run this channel in a democratic way (within reason). Meaning that if the majority or a large percentage of people would like to see some changes in the channel, then I implement them. This has happened multiple times already. This channel is what people want it to be. KZread itself indicates that actively asking for "likes" is something creators should do in their videos, because sometimes people forget to do it, even if they loved the content. "Likes" help the videos become more popular. I don't narrate the videos, the only way I can ask for a "like" is with text and animations. In this case in particular, the animation appears after the music stops and an important chapter of the video is closed. The animation doesn't interrupt anything important. Having explained the reason why that animation exists, I'm a bit disappointed that instead of clicking the "dislike" button, or ignoring the part you didn't enjoy and focus on the rest of the video, or even stop watching the video, you want to do all that AND "blacklist" an ENTIRE CHANNEL. A channel with dozens and dozens of hours of quality content, content that you won't easily find anywhere else on KZread. This video is 3862 seconds long (64 minutes), the small "like" animation is 4 seconds long, or 0.1%. But the animation only occupies about 5% of the screen. So it's 5% of 0.1%. The part you didn't like represents 0.005% of the video. Yes, I can remove the animation in future videos. I'll even do it in the next video, which is being edited at the moment and will be published Sunday. I want to test if the percentage of "likes" goes down or not. But I'm also gonna pin this comment and see what the others think of the situation.

My personal opinion is you are making a mountain out of a mole hill, which is a well known saying in the USA. I also think it’s stupid to blacklist a quality presentation for the reason you’ve given here. You’re really only hurting your own knowledge base when you do so. There are many factors that cause someone to dislike a video. Hating a fleeting subscribe button is among the most insignificant.

Take whatever action you deem necessary to maintain your enjoyment of what is available on KZread. I do stand on the words I’ve already shared. Perhaps another American expression “throwing out the baby with the bath water” says it better. If you restrict yourself to KZread videos that never place a click to subscribe button then your experience on this venue will become increasingly shallow and empty. Your choice. I doubt it will really matter much to those whom you blacklist.

Que excelente vídeo! Caminhos diferentes para mostrar a integração dos monumentos, Igrejas, etc.! Quando você chegou na Av. dos Aliados, vindo por trás da Câmara Municipal, eu não fazia ideia de onde você estava indo! Assim, cada vez mais, sem sair de casa, eu conheço essa cidade maravilhosa! Sem qualquer trocadilho com a cidade do Rio de Janeiro! ☺ Eu sigo um casal, que já não mora em Portugal, infelizmente, e eles me ensinaram a amar o Porto! E o Jardim do Morro! Agora, eu quero saber: por que você não mencionou a Igreja dos Carmelitas e, principalmente, a casa escondida? 🤔 Eu adoro essa casa! 🤩 Você poderia escrever historinhas, rapaz! A conversa da gaivota foi ótima! É gaivota, mesmo, né? ☺ Eu sempre me emociono com a história do coração de D. Pedro IV / I... Aqui não há muita gente que dê valor ao significado histórico e emocional do gesto dele, ao deixar o coração para a cidade, e dos portuenses, ao preservar e cuidar com tamanho desvelo dessa relíquia de sua história! Olaaa Maria! 😃 No vídeo do próximo domingo terá um bocadinho do Jardim do Morro! Apenas uns segundos, no entanto. Eu voltarei ao Porto noutras ocasiões para passar mais tempo nalguns locais. No meu plano inicial eu iria mencionar a Igreja dos Carmelitas e a casa estreita, mas durante a gravação eu estava tão focado na Igreja do Carmo que acabei por esquecer. Erro imperdoável mas aconteceu... 😅 Como não filmei com a qualidade e destaque que queria, achei melhor não mencionar neste video. Ficará para a próxima oportunidade, pois voltarei mais vezes ao Porto este ano. Ainda tenho de filmar o interior de pelo menos umas 5-6 igrejas e a catedral. Que bom que gosta do mapa, penso que é algo muito útil! 😊 Muito obrigado por ter assistido a todos os vídeos, mesmo os que eram de qualidade um pouco duvidosa, como os primeiros! 😅 Vamos aos 200! Olá olá John! 😃 100 videos, I can't believe it myself... my plan was to make 1 or 2 videos and then move on to another hobby... 😅 Back in the early 90s, Porto (and Portugal as a whole) was a very different place. Before low cost airlines, AirBnB, internet, Instagram, influencers, etc, Porto received very few tourists and international attention. Also, it was the period when downtown Porto was at its absolut worst. Crime, drug abuse, derelict buildings everywhere, it was not a good place. It would not have been surprising at all for J.K. Rowling not to know about Lello Bookstore. It was just an anonymous bookstore 30 years ago. For example, the oldest bookstore in the world is located in Lisbon (listed in the Guinness Book of Records, etc), it's quiet famous on its on too. Someone visited the bookstore, added 2+2 and got 17. The myth was then passed along by word of mouth until it became an "undeniable truth", embraced by everyone. And then J.K. Rowling finally talked about this topic for the first time and denied everything. And this is just one of the many myths about Harry Potter and Portuguese cities. For the most part, it's all nonsense than can be easily disproven. The same thing happens in Britain, loads of places claim to be an important source of inspiration for the Harry Potter books. J.K. Rowling has talked about a few places in Porto (one of them will be mentioned in a future video), there would be no logical reason for her to lie about the bookstore in particular. @@mcarmojunqueira A livraria Lello era uma como outra qualquer que vendia livros. Eu recordo-me de lá ir ainda muito miúdo com a minha irmã mais velha que comprava muitos livros. Uma livraria como outra, mas com uma arquitetura do início do século. Mais nada. Aliás, quem quisesse bons livros ia a outras livrarias. Depois inventaram o mito do H Potter e foi o que se viu. Milhares de basbaques à porta e eles, como já não vendiam livros, passaram a vender bilhetes para entrar. Sinal dos tempos em que até Veneza tem torniquetes para ser visitada por outros tantos milhões de basbaques que tomam banho na lagoa fedorenta!

Foi muito bom ver esse vídeo! Pois estava em dúvida se ano que vem iria fazer turismo na Espanha ou Porto Portugal, agora sei que irei para a Espanha! Pois depois de ver esse vídeo fiquei triste ao ver os prédios se deteriorando, fachadas escuras com lodo...parecendo abandonado...nossa!! Chocada! Cidade feia...

May I ask you a question out of curiosity? Do you rest during your walks? Sometimes your walks are too long when seen on Google Maps. I am sure that they are tiring.

No, when I start the walk I never rest. 😀 If the walk is longer than an hour I have to stop for a few seconds to change the battery of the camera, because the batteries only last about 60 minutes, but I resume the walk right away. The walks can be very tiring in the summer, that's why I try not to make videos in July/August. This year I made numerous videos in August though... I usually make a bunch of videos between March and June, so I have enough content to publish in the hotter months.

Haha, those 3 (Guimarães, Braga and Algarve) are precisely my top priorities for this year. 😁 I was waiting for the weather to improve so I can my plan trips to those 3 regions. I had a trip booked to the Algarve in March, but the weather was awful so I canceled it. Before July I will have at least 2-3 videos in the Algarve, that's a guarantee. I want to go to Braga and Guimarães as well, I'm just not sure when. Is there a specific town in the Algarve that you'd like me to film?

Bonjour ! Quel beau reportage ! Merci à vous d avoir fait ce long déplacement pour nous informer ! Baixa a mauvaise réputation en France. Harry Potter ? Personnellement j aime pas du tout ! C est terriblement anti catholique cela abime l esprit de la jeunesse . Hélas en France les médias disent que du bien de ce livre . Je peux supporter Harry Poter c est pour moi vilain J aime Vasco de Gama ou Magelan! Magelan ! On vient de le redécouvrir ! Il y avait plein d erreurs à son sujet ! On a dit qu il etait né à de Sabrosa maintenant on pense qu il est de Porto ! Son nom est Magalhaes ! IL aurait fait du traffic de bétail ! Joao de Barros son biographe le pense mais après tout ! Il rentré au Portugal après cette affaire sans demander l autorisation . Le roi etait très mécontent ! Il faut lire au Gaspar Corrreia ! On sait pas grand chose de cette affaire de traffic de bétail. Magellan s est justifié au près du Roi qui l a pas écouté et qui lui a pas augmenté sa pension . Au moment de quiiter le Roi il a voulu baiser la main du Roi qui a refusé ! On l a renvoyé ! Magellan de Souza ! Il faut lire aussi Antonio Pigafetta qui a ecrit sur le voyage de Magelallan depuis Séville ! Le portrait de Magellan se trouve a Florence en Italie à la galerie des Offices !
