Porting Video #2 - Chamfering Port Edges & Matching Gaskets | BikeBerry

Welcome back to BikeBerry's Porting Masterclass! In this second installment, Tony guides you through the crucial steps of chamfering port edges and matching gaskets to enhance your bike's performance. This video is a must-watch for anyone looking to refine their motorized bicycle's engine for smoother operation and improved efficiency.
Tony starts by demonstrating how to clean up the inside of the ports, ensuring that the piston rings don't get snagged, which is vital for the engine's longevity and performance. He then moves on to matching the gaskets to the new opening size of the ports, a step often overlooked but crucial for optimal engine function.
Throughout the video, Tony uses a variety of small files, showcasing techniques to achieve a perfectly rounded and smooth port. He emphasizes the importance of not overdoing the chamfering process, as it's more about preventing ring snagging than creating a large sloping curve.
The video also covers how to use gaskets effectively, drawing parallels with countertop lamination techniques to achieve a perfect match with the port. This approach ensures a seamless fit and optimal performance.
As Tony wraps up, he gives a sneak peek into the next steps of porting, including opening up the ports for even more performance gains. This series is an invaluable resource for both beginners and experienced enthusiasts looking to get the most out of their motorized bicycles.

On those gaskets you can use a dremel with a round sanding wheel to file them away faster, It also leaves a smother finish and doesn't put as much strain on the filter. Good video though. Nice job Toney.

I wonder if you would be able too feed a strip of emery cloth through the intake and exhaust ports? Then you could just work the strip back and forth.

I would match the gaskets to the intake and exhaust then transfer to the cylinder using the gaskets
