Losing a brother is, hands down.. the most heart wrenching feeling youll ever experience as a man. My brother was the man i always pictured at my side. Marineford happened shortly after i lost my brother. One piece always felt beyond personal to me. RIP Joe.🕊 RIP ace. 🕊

You know, my brother was actually planning on watching One Piece, but when he found out Ace died, he decided not to, as he likes Ace alot, can’t blame him, he was, and still is a fantastic character that had a lot of potential, Well, all shonen main protagonists, always have to experience some sort of tragedy, as it makes them stronger in the end, but gosh, why did they have to kill Ace, so darn soon?! *sniffles, while watching* *I-I’m not crying, you all are!*

haha, yes, yes, I'm definitely crying, well, I understand why every protagonist needs to lose someone, the protagonist is not simply the character that appears the most in the story, he is there and he is soon him for a reason, we need to suffer with him, feel his pain, he is showing us something, to teach us something, so we need to understand them better, and characters important to them need to die to show us that people important to us will also die, and like Luffy, no we need to accept it, we don't need to get over it, we just need to smile and live with it, just like Luffy, as a content creator I understand that

@@jelly_xox ace is still a good character, he didn't cease to exist, he just died, if we watch One Piece again, he'll be there to smile, defend Whitebeard's honor and sleep over his food again, and in all of his flashbacks, he will still be there even in future episodes, along with Luffy and Sabo, even if we can't see him, he will be in our memories, and that's enough

The fact that I refused to continue past the alabasta arc because of his death, when he first appeared on screen I immediately started to like him and I relate to him alot on many things,like for example we both have narcolepsy, are hot headed (pun intended),love our younger siblings with a passion, and the fact that we share somewhat of the same mind in terms of living and loving, the fact that he was so well written that I,a mostly cold hearted person was able to fall in love with him so fast amazes me, and like luffy, I to have lost someone very close and dear to me, I understand a lot of the one piece characters feelings, but I understand Luffy a lot, oda did a amazing job of creating this masterpiece but he really hit me hard with ace's death. -W.D

The fact all these comments, are run on sentences, with needless stops, is odd.

I recently started re-watching one piece with a friend who has never seen it. So far they are enjoying it but part of me dreads watching marineford again... I knew Ace would die but not HOW! The first time I watched it I couldn't stop crying... Knowing what will happen I hope I can stay composed when it happens... Heck, I think I'll even cry when we'll reach Alabasta. ; . ; Garp's words of still hurt so much... Ace died too soon. He would have been a legend if he wasn't hunted for simply existing...

For me, Marineford chilled me to the core... • I was still reeling from the genuine, nightmarish terror that my favourite Straw Hat up to that point, one "Marimo/Kaizoku Gari" Roronoa Zoro got Bartholomew "Bokun" Kuma-ed out of the entire plot; • Luffy met Chief Warden Magellan, with ALL that THAT entailed (here's looking at you, Bon Clay-sama)... ; then • In "The War Of The Best", there is an entire will-they-won't-they(?) struggle to set Gol D. Roger Jr. free, culminating in a unexpected, but still entirely One Piece-appropriate success(!); • That comes crashing down because of a SEINEN-@*$ old white guy in a cap, Hawaiian shirt and a red suit... ; • AND THEN THIS red dog (lowercase, no respect required) *MTHFK* HAS THE LITERAL NERVE TO KEEP GOING AND PUT A CHINK IN MUGIWARA'S PLOT ARMOUR ( X on his chest) ?!?!? I was never ready for this moment. I mean, even when you know it's coming, can you really brace yourself for it? Still, it was too soon (for me) after Kuma OHKO-ed The Squad, Zoro-first, at Sabaody. 💔

Ace is my favorite character and I’m not that far into the show, but his sacrifice reminds me of why he’s my favorite…We will miss you Ace and forever remember you

the tragedy with ace is soo sad, he grown up where he was made to believe his existense is a sin that no one actually loves him , he lived his life to find reason to live he always thought he is worthless , but when he came to know how much his true father and brother loved him, he died protecting his brother and his father died protecting him , he dearmt to live a life with no regrets still died with one regret that he would not be able to see his brother accomplish his dream.

You know its sad when the real episode hurts more than the edit 😞

ace died thinking sabo was dead, but at least he died in his brother's arms

The thing that's so sad abt aces death is that he sacrificed himself for luffy.....he did everything for his brother and wanted him to live the best life. Also, the words ace said before he died was so sad. "Thanks you for loving me" and "The last thing I would love to see is you grow and accomplish your dream". I almost stopped watching op because his death was so sad and heartbreaking. But the saddest thing is luffys reaction towards aces death when he wakes up.

Ace is also my fav character and I was prepping myself so hard when it got to Marinefort but it suddenly happened and I couldn’t stop crying. I too want to stop but I’m trying to go on. However now that you say more sad things are yet to come, idk if I can handle it 😩

Ace and Corazon death are the saddest 😭😭😭 both men sacrificed their own lives to protect the person they love.

Happened a while ago….but I still miss ace the way I miss Itachi, Ik they aren’t real but it still hurt to see them go, wish I could bring back those two brothers….

It's so much sadder once you realise Isuka probably refusef to participate in Marineford and having to watch it all happen before her eyes, she was in the same position as Garp but basically powerless to change anything. I really wish she was included at least once to see her reaction even tho anime onlies wouldn't know who she was.
