Good piece of advice you gave to those just starting out. Most of my tools are cheap crap but they get the job done. If I break something I replace it with something better. If it's a tool that I use all the time I replace it with something really good. So at age 76, anyone looking at my tool set would probably think it's not very attractive, nothing matches and they are probably not laid out very well. I have a lot of stuff in dedicated Rubbermaid containers. If I need something from one of those sets I drag out the needed container, otherwise it stays tucked away out of sight. I do all my work inside my garage workshop so portability is not a priority for me. My Craftsman rolling double box set was bought on the cheap 40 years ago and still serves me well. I have a < $100 plastic rolling cart that I love and is completely indestructible. I'm not at all impressed with these videos showing off tool carts that cost $10k and are packed with high end designer tools that I could never afford. You have to wonder where these guys are getting that kind of money. When I was a kid I worked on my Dad's car with the world's crappiest tool sets. It's not the tools, right? It's how you use them.

I have that same tool box and it's a Sears Craftsman that my father in law left to me when he passed away. I'm definitely going to rivet a socket rail and make to pick holes also. Thank for the idea

Pretty cool mods, I’ll have to incorporate them in to my craftsman box.

Really should drill those holes and use bolts to secure those side handles. Those self tappers are going to wallow out that hole and eventually let loose when carrying weight in that toolbox. Awesome set up man

I honestly don't remember haha. But you can go to Ace Hardware and find them but use bolts instead of self tapping screws.

Never once in my life have I bought a Snap On tool. My co-workers laughed at me, but my $5 wrench does the exact same job as their $60 wrench, and it also has a lifetime warranty..... just like their Snap On.
