These are so helpful. Any coach that is considering it should absolutely order one or two. I don't remember how i first came across it but i got the shot/weight/hammer ring that fits in the discus circle conversion ring..it works great everywhere like you said and it helped size down the discus circle for hammer much easier. I plan on ordering at least the discus ring style so my team has one of each to use.

Wow. That's weird. I went to order these today from my normal vendor, but they didn't have the combo. I got the notification that you dropped a new video, and boom there it is with a discount code. Thanks Matt!

Awesome. Just got your order. Very strange because it is an option with the manufacturer. They also now have the premium 1" thick circles as a combo too.

@@EliteThrowsCoaching The other place can be a bit behind on their website, but they usually show up to my daughters camps with great reps and discounts. I try to order from the good guys that really support the sport. Happy to order from ETC this time. BTW, I just realized my oldest will be throwing in your neighborhood. She starts at Bryant in the fall.

CAn't help but wish I hadn't just built an indoor wood circle for my college. This would be great for clinics and such. Great idea but can't help wondering about durability/ longevity. thanks again Coach.

That’s what I’m thinking. Clinics, areas where you have cement but no circles, when you’re stuck inside a gym with bad weather. I don’t think I’d leave these outside permanently or use them in rain or bad weather as they’re not meant for that but used inside and taken apart and put away nightly and they’ll last for a long time.

Please explain to me this... I noticed while in high school all my friends that did discuss and shot put were placed in a location outside the view of the majority of watchers during track meets. Now I am a father and my daughter is doing shot put and discuss. They bust their butts training and put in time and sweat just as the rest of track and field, but they for the most part go unnoticed due to being placed in the shadows. I understand that there is a certain amount of danger due to heavy flying objects, but their are several safety options and I'm sure there is a way to place them in a area that can be viewed by the stands. They deserve their moment in the light just as much as pole vault, long jump, high jump, and any other field event in my opinion.

Absolutely and I agree with you 100%!! Luckily there are a lot of venues (especially college tracks) where the throwing circles are in the infield of the track. It always depends on the size of the meet as well. I remember at the New England championships back in 2019 you couldn’t even get a spot to stand around the discus area because it was so packed with fans and people cheering and going crazy. I also remember throwing in college where we were basically second class citizens compared to the runners. It’s a shame but getting better!

I bought one of these they suck especially if you live in a Windee area. They’re great if you have a place to do it indoors but if you don’t I wouldn’t waste the money

😂 they definitely don’t suck. People all around the country and some of the top colleges in the country use these. If you live in a windy area you should probably weigh it down with something.
