Portaband Chop Saw - DIY Bandsaw Conversion for Horizontal & Vertical Metal Cutting

PLEASE SUBSCRIBE IF YOU LIKE THIS VIDEO. I repair an old broken portable band saw and combine it with an old metal cutting chop saw to make a highly functional portaband chop saw that can be used for horizontal or vertical cutting. This is a cool DIY project that you can do in your home shop.

Why didn't you just take the cord off the Makita and move it over to the portaband?

I don't understand why you put so much effort into repairing half the cord. If you are going to fix it, then fix it.

In regards to the Porta Chopper, how did you get the bandsaw square with the table? Did you figure out how to mock it up virtually perfectly? Did you put any adjustments into the hinge? I am trying to build the same thing with an old Harbor Freight chop saw. I hate chop saws except for the $500 one that I cannot afford.

Dude invest in a volt ohm meter and learn how to use it! It will save you a lot time and aggravation. Learn to trouble shoot not the shot gun approach.

You should have used the electrical cord off the chop saw to replace the bad cord on the band saw

I dont know how you got those 3 holes to align perfectly with the base. Did you just eyeball it ? Or did you enlarge the mounting hinge holes to allow wiggle room?

I enjoy your channel very much, but I dont understand wasting so much time. I found 2 band saws on craigslist today for $60 each, I bought my 14" shotchman cold saw for $600. My shop is loaded with awesome tools because my driveway isn't full of$40,000 SUV's, again I appreciate all your video's, Thank You
